He (Cal) looks like a different person on the sidelines versus where he was with Kentucky the past few years. Looks rejuvenated and having fun coaching
Yeah we will see. Not going to take too much away from this one other than we’ve got several weapons and we look really deep for a completely overhauled roster. Lots of chances early to see how good we are against solid competition.
Agreed, Boogie is the real deal that first step is stupid fast and always created separation, If he develops the 3 pointer to go with it then jfc he'll be cheat code for wins.
It has to be a much more relaxed situation than Kentucky. We aren’t demanding making the final four every season or else.
My brother-in-law said we're going to final 4 this year when the hire was announced. I bet him we wouldn't.
Talen seems to understand the offense more after the past couple weeks, ala casey dick way back in the day.
TL;DR Heard some tough news about a family member’s health right before the MS St. game. That, combined with what sounds like some lingering frustrations about playing time, led to him telling coaches he wasn’t going in when called up late in the game. He was then dismissed by Pittman during the week. He was honest about the situation, took accountability, and apologized where appropriate. That’s a lot to ask from from a young man in a difficult/emotional situation
The coaches have kind of ducked him over every step of the way. He has been good enough to play for two years and has been mostly watching. Only chance he really ever got was in the ole miss game last year and he had 7/90/2. If you’re good enough to have those stats in one sec game you’re good enough to play a bunch. He should have told Pittman to kiss his ass way before Saturday
I think he’s a troubled kid that has some emotional issues, and I also think Pittman is a piece of shit that isn’t the honest person he portrays himself as being with his players. Sucks to lose him and wish him the best.
I think he is pretty clearly the second best TE they had and for some reason they refused to play him. Guessing he goes to ole miss and catches 35 next season. Pittman has had issues identifying his best players over his entire tenure.
I think it’s less has issues identifying and more “I like this guy better” and not playing the best person. Kinda like how he kept shitty coaches he liked better even though they were horrible.
Really only watched his EYBL stuff but seems like it, although these are highlights and I’m not sure on the volume he’s throwing up there. Haven’t watched any OTE stuff yet but I’m comfortable saying that he will probably get several technicals next year for talking shit.
Not sure how that shit goes but my mom and his grandma are first cousins. I remember his mom played at Springdale and his dad played college ball as well. Getting these recruits, transfers and keeping in state players is making me moist for Cal.
I’m honestly impressed how we are getting in state players with the roster we have. Cal got himself a stew going.
Recruiting will never be a problem. Hope we can get a team that gets hot at the right time and one that can shoot from 3 at a high clip.
Catching a lob that is 3’ outside the backboard and throwing it down from almost a standing vert is some freak of nature shit
