Thought it was great content wise but needed another episode or two to make it a complete season with all the flash-backing they did
Just finished. Pretty agree w everyone’s take. Very good season but didn’t reach the heights of the first two. Still better than 95% of the shit out there
Napkins was a great episode. Bernthal kills every scene he’s in. Also I had no idea the actor that plays Tina is actually married to the detective from Dexter in real life.
Season had its moments, following up S2 was gonna be tough. Perhaps a victim of its own success. Idk if I’ll rewatch a single full episode. Probably scenes like Tina and Mikey.
im only through episode 6, I’ve only seen 3 Faks, in my current state there is no possible way I could process 6 more.
I need a new Fak every season. Maybe 2. Spoiler the sheer genetics of Cena being a Fak means anyone could be a Fak
Have only seen episode 1 of the new season. All it took for me to make a couple fancy ass meals in the kitchen this weekend.
I just finished. I know they filmed the next "season," but I am actually interpreting this as an intermission for season 3 and that the next "season" is actually a continuation of this season's storyline, whereas the first two seasons had their own full arcs. It just feels like they said, there is too much story to tell for this sequence and we need to spread it out beyond a 10 episode arc, and that is likely why they filmed it all together. Basically the first two seasons were 8 and 10 track albums and this is a double album in music terms. All that being said, I don't think we can judge this season without the next one, but I absolutely loved the character development and dialog this season. The fact that I can feel geeky about an industry and it's celebrity chef's that I never even followed means that they are doing a great job. of pulling us in.
sure you can it's what they decided to put out even if the next "half" is great, this "half" was still not all that good
You can be so irritating in TV threads. It’s kind of your thing, and of course you are missing the point. If you didn’t enjoy this season then you don’t really get the show.
only through 8 eps but the Faks are far and away the worst part of the show. They don’t fit whatsoever and have gotten far too much screen time. MM was fine (in small doses) as the ‘awkward comedic relief’ to cut the tension between Carmy & Richie but his brother is awful and any scene he’s in actively detracts from the episode.
Yeah I was shocked when I saw that McHale said that, though he said he takes it up a notch but that the whisper thing is real
Just finished, it's a good season but doesn't hit the highs of S2. The Tina episode was the best but 1 and 10 were very strong. Olivia Colman is just insanely wonderful. Very cool seeing Keller and Achatz make cameos, I'm sure there were others but I don't know them by their faces. Spoiler The best part of E10 was Carm flashing back to the chefs that made him feel like a million bucks intertwined with the Chef that exacerbated his mental issues. I feel like you saw a light come on for him in real time on what kind of leader he wants to be but I guess we'll see going forward
I see people saying not as good. I don’t see people saying bad. You also have to acknowledge that the story arc for this season is intentionally not complete.
Lots of shows have cliffhanger seasons, which I know you know. That doesn’t mean you can’t judge what they’ve put out.
This isn't a cliffhanger season in the traditional sense, IMO. That is where I am differing. "To Be Continued" implies that the season didn't finish and that 3 and 4 are just a very long season arc.
I really love what we did get from the show, but it feels very much like an intermission, and an underwhelming amount of plot movement for 10 episodes. plot movement isn't always the point of the show (and often is just a bonus to the character development in the show) but there's a reason many fans will have an unsatisfied feeling. that said, beautiful stuff and bring on "season 4" aka season 3.2
Disagree, the Faks are the comic relief that was largely absent during the 1st 2 seasons, the tension is amped up this season so some comic breaks are welcome, even if they are awkward and or out of place. I, too am thru 8 eps and have really enjoyed it, that last ep was great ... Spoiler but oh so hard to watch
That's really odd that he would agree to be in the show knowing that. If that's true, that's a bummer. I love Keller.
Geeked a little when I saw Redzepi. (Ran Noma, for anyone that didn't know. One of, if not the most decorated restaurants ever that they mention on the show)
I read more about this. Parts of the character are based on him. McHale talked about it on one of the talk shows. He said in no way is Keller the monster his character is. Keller is also responsible for the Every Second Counts thing.
Depends what you were looking for. it was slow moving, but it was also everything that makes it great ...
I think the show runners went too slow and then tried to balance it out with less but more explosive moments of chaos. Didn’t really work for me. Some of the shouting/yelling felt unnatural compared to seasons past. Too many episodes dragged and left me wanting more. I won’t fault anyone for finding issue with this season, outside of the awful Fak take above, that’s where I draw the line.
