This is an all-time bonehead take. No one in the administration would allow that to happen, even if Kiffin lost every bit of his self-awareness and tried.
This was posted on the LSU board. Story is at 31:00. It isn't much but the cliff notes version is Guy is down at fishing camp with a group and group see Ed O and his sons. Someone says off the cuff “he better win every game this year.” 10 minutes later, Ed O shows up at their camp asking “Someone got something to say to me?” presumably looking for a fight. Someone recorded this interaction and sent it into the LSU administration. He clearly wants to just fight everyone that criticizes him. He's one giant pile of shit and it's starting to sound like LSU officials want him out bad. He's just a PR nightmare at this point
And people on the LSU board seem to believe the guy he confronted and was threatening was actually a booster and a prominent one at that
Collecting everything they can to justify not paying (or at least heavily reducing) that $21 million buyout.
I wouldn't put too much stock into this story (Jordy Culotta has a personal beef with Ed O ever since launching his new show). Also, LSU admin isn't firing Ed O for a fight at a fishing camp.
I can tell you that Scott Woodward isn't a fan of Ed O and wasn't in 2020. This is small potatoes compared to the actual ammunition they have against O when it comes to his buyout.
I feel like LSU could have fired him with cause this past offseason. There would have been a legal battle and maybe they pay a few million to make that go away but they wouldn’t have paid close to his buyout. Just not sure they can say it’s with cause now if they struggle again this year when they kept him after the title IX report came out.
I do love questioning the veracity of the story when he was on video threatening to fight an opposing fan 72 hours ago.
Prob dumb question but wtf is a fishing camp in this context? I’m assuming it’s Just a dock and house where dudes gather to fish? Maybe like an outdoor pole barn with some picnic tables?
Exactly my point. They didn't fire him for the Drake Davis and Derrius Guice situation. A video at a fishing camp is just ammo.
The end of the season and the fact that the majority of the Title IX stuff happening under Les Miles's tenure is why he wasn't fired.
woah now. that is not true. oregon state forced out their president and kansas forced out their football coach over the lsu shit you shoulda said "no one at lsu has faced any type of punishment"
In the end I trust LSU to do the right and moral thing. Spoiler unless they get a good quarterback real soon
This looks nothing like what I expected a Louisiana fish camp to look like. I envisioned some shit you would expect to see on swamp people.
Not a diss. But It really amazes me when people think this place looks like swamp people or duck dynasty. Those two shows must have really captivated America for whatever reason.
I've never been to Louisiana. I can picture New Orleans and a bayou. Not sure what's in the rest of the state. Pelicans maybe
Honestly my picture comes from what I know. People here refer to a little wooden shack on a river bank with a porch and dock as their fish camp. That picture above just looks like a lake house in an area that might flood.
my dad worked at Avis at the New Orleans Airport for a while when he was younger, and he said daily people asked him how to avoid alligators and/or whether they would need to take a boat places
It will likely come out sometime this week. But LSU running back John Emery is out for the season apparently has an abysmal relationship with the academic side of things. On. Apparently, he took the wrong classes this summer and is academically ineligible. I don't know how something like that happens in 2021 with the LSU program's number of advisors. But this speaks to the incompetents that the O tenure has been lately.
What made that worse was that he had good grades. He just hasn’t completed a high enough percentage toward his degree because he’d changed majors between different schools within the university. Purely an admin fuckup.
I couldn’t remember the details but I thought it was something like not having the core classes by x year. How that shit happens in general is beyond me. Let alone with the starting running back on an sec team.
“Urban Meyer is not cut out for the NFL, if LSU keeps struggling he might be in line to be #1 on their list next year” - Ryan Clark on Get Up Not the only NFL name I've heard floated for the LSU job.
lol didn't lsu sit like 15 kids against mcneese state? wonder if any others are ineligble. would be hilarious he says go tigers in a funny voice tho
Pure fuckup by whoever was setting up his classes. It's almost impossible to screw up unless he wasn't around for summer school
but the guy in the video talking about the lake house incident did nothing to break my preconceived notion of what people look like down there.
