Anybody watching this? DVR'd the first episode and it kept me entertained. Watching the second now
Havent watched yet, but absolutely love the book series. The source material is great. Hopefully the TV show is too. I will prob watch both tomorrow.
Watched the first two episodes. So far, pretty solid and entertaining. I have the books on my list. They're probably going to get a bump up now.
Episodes 3 and 4 are online
ive watched the first 4 and liked them, the production value isnt the best and sometimes and you can tell its a syfy show
but overall it is a big step up from the normal syfy shows
Caught up on all four now. Really dig this.
the actor playing Holden is distractingly bad.
Looking forward to having it back tonight after binging the first 4, 3 weeks ago
Really liking the show still. It gets DVR'd but is usually my first watch.
Im really enjoying it as well.
Same here. Really entertaining so far
big fan of the book series, have even read the five short stories. didn't have much hope for the show but dvr'd anyway. started watching about a week ago and so far its been awesome. sad its over next week
Didnt realize they're doing a 2hr finale. Im ok with it. They burned through these fast. Next season is 13 episodes instead of 10, so that's cool
Wow at the episode. 2 hour finale is going to be insane.
Just watched the new episode
Anyone else get a Halo/Flood vibe whenever they were on the ship?
Like the video game? I dont game, so no. However the protomolecule looks pretty damn cool and close to how I pictured it.
Me neither, but I played Halo back in 2004 or so. Halo spoilers below about that scene.
In halo the main plot is a typical war against aliens, but there's a huge plot twist halfway through the game where they stumble on some dead bodies and some life forms that are basically leeching off of them called the Flood. The whole scene is pretty eerie and suspenseful. The scene in this episode made me think of it, when whatever that stuff was starting to glow. I doubt it's some alien race but it reminded me of Halo
Love this show
2hr finale tonight. Lots going down. Should be intense and a lot of fun!
Really surpassed my expectations of what the show was going to be. Never read the books, so didn't know any of the story going in. Pretty excited for S2
i'm a book reader and it blew my expectations away. was expecting a through the jeans handy and ended up cumming in her ass
good job, good effort syfy
Man. I still haven't watched. Stuff came up both nights. I'm gonna watch it tonight. Really excited.
Is it just one book, and what's the name of it/them?
leviathan wakes is book 1. there are 4 more books out with more to come. p good shit
Not really a spoiler but whatever. Very interesting ending. Still makes me think of the flood.
imo, best show Syfy has done since BSG. I really enjoyed the first season.
had been meaning to get around to finishing this so I binged the whole thing today. loved it, can't wait for season two.
there was one scene from Leviathan Wakes that I was really hoping for, but I understand why they couldn't do it from a budget standpoint.
What was that scene?
I read the books (as part of the TMB book club) and then kept going until the series ended, but there were so many parts that they couldn't do, financially/practically/etc.
Season 2 on February 1.
the protomolucule hybrid on Ceres
just saw a tv spot for season 2. looks really good.
Can't wait to see Bobbie on screen
I thought last night's episode was really solid. Set the season up well.
Dammit! I can't believe I missed it.
I liked all of the Avasarala that I was seeing in the previews, she was far and away my favorite character in the book (well, maybe Bobbie).
watched the first two eps. this season is going to be really good.
Really hard not to be a book douche itt, but that's not at all how I pictured the protomolecule. Wasn't it described as a black/tar kind of substance, or am I making that up?
Not a big deal. Thought these first two eps were great. Excited for the rest of the season.
I haven't read the books (yet) so I have no idea, but I do follow James S.A. Corey (which I think Ty primarily runs) on Twitter and I've seen him discuss visual sort of changes before. Mainly that they do some changes just to catch viewers' attention even if it doesn't make much sense scientifically or align with what is in the book. So maybe the protomolecule was a victim of those changes.
I'm enjoying this show immensely. I can't remember the last time I tuned in to SyFy to follow a show, maybe when Stargate was ending? I don't know. This show is pretty dang solid as far as Sci Fi television goes though.
this week's was good but I really can't wait for next week.
Holden saying "Belter Bullshit" was out of character
I've been enjoying the Belter slang, btw. They did better with the hand motions and the vocab than I thought they would've.
Holden is much bigger pussy in the books.
Great episode. That was done really well.
Also - just saw this. Post show podcast w the book/show writers.
every week I'm pleasantly surprised at how well-made this show is.
Damn, last night's ep took this show to a new level.
I'm really confused where they go from here though.
This show is so good. Loved the flash backs to tell Epstein's origin.
Spoiler: minor spoiler if you haven't read The Churn
At least I think its only in The Churn
I lolololol'd when Amos said said Naomi was like his sister but he would still fuck her, since back in Baltimore he was fucking the lady that was like his mom
I hate to continue to be a book douche, but they're doing so well honoring the books.
Still wish the belters were elongated like in the books, but I get why they can't be.
OK, book people - just got around to watching last night's episode on dvr - was that the first chapter of book 3 that we just saw? Or was it the first chapter of book two and they introduced Bobbi a łot earlier in the show than in the books?
Not sure about chapters but Bobbie was in the beginning of book 2
