I looked up their tour after you were posting last night, Bob & Wolf Bros playing with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center in DC in Oct. Tickets acquired.

 

Great decision - they were awesome. Bob looks and sounds great. It was fun as hell.

 

Saw Bob and The Wolf Bros last night. Good show. My buddy’s wife couldn’t go so I ended up with a free ticket.

Opener was Hell In A Bucket. Encore was Black Muddy River.

I felt like he got after it pretty good.

Thoroughly enjoyed.

Been listening to the fall 91 MSG shows all afternoon. Good times.

 

I think sitting outside on a nice day listening to the dead is my favorite thing to do. Going with 6/4/77 and a nice hazy pale ale today.

I'm listening to the show on archive. I like how they spent like 10 minutes tuning before Playin and 15 seconds into the song Jerry's guitar goes completely out

edit: props to them muscling through the tuning issues and delivering the good this song tho. holy fuck.

Also, their tone - particularly the guitars - in this era was so perfect.

I'd like to see Mayer play the same tunes with a different percussion section so he can really let loose

GD was always at their best with Billy as the sole drummer

 

I actually prefer 73 and 74 to 72, but I think that’s certainly their best stretch of music. My other favorite 3 year stretches would have to be 79-80 and 88-90.

Give me one last Furthur tour with the OG lineup after this and I'll be completely satisfied.

 

Never seen any rendition of the dead play but I’ve got a reminder set for next Friday to buy tix for the Raleigh show next summer.
