Need a modest pair of bluetooth wrap around earbuds as a gift for about 50 employees. I don't want to spend more than 50-60 per pair. It's part of a gift bag. Ideas?

I met with our Bose rep yesterday to demo some of their large form factor speakers. During conversation he dropped - hey, let me know if you want any headphones or anything, I can get them for you at cost, I just picked up some QC35's, REALLY nice, let me know.

Patiently waiting on some headphones I got on Cyber Monday to arrive. Should be anytime now.

 

well I'm sure he was talking series ii. And typically it woudl be about 50% off, but I wouldn't be surprised if Bose jacks that number up even more. i doidn't ask. I didn't want to look too greedy. Yet. I'll wait until we do a job and spec Bose, then say - oh, hey, remember those QC35's....

 

I've been looking at these for a week now. The ratings look good. But, I think I want to get some over the ears.

 

Been considering getting these, what do you guys think? Are there better wireless earbuds on the market?

 

Thinking about pulling the trigger on some Sennehiser Momentum M2 Iei earphones.

Any reviews or thoughts on this model/brand from the audiophiles in this thread?

 

Ear cups are small. They are good but there are better closed headphones now.

Noticed these are not on my Amazon Wish List anymore so someone must have bought them for me for Christmas. Supposed to be aptX Low Latency headphones so the audio will matchup with the video for watching TV when paired with the aptX Low Latency bluetooth transmitter I have. Already have some headphones like that but after a few months of use I don't like them much for a variety of reasons.

These have a much longer battery life (40 hours!), work wired without having to be turned on (my current ones are dumb and need to be turned on even for wired mode), they look much better to me, and it has a 4.3 average rating on over 3000 reviews.

 

Did you get these? How are they?

I would like to buy my girlfriend a pair for her birthday. She would probably only wear them on flights. I just can't bring myself to spend 250-300 on her headphones because she won't appreciate them and will likely break them.

 

I really like them, but I got them for $40 on Cyber Mornday.

 

I got some Pioneer HRM-7's yesterday and have them running through my Audioengine N22. Pretty impressed so far. A little bright but exceptional sound reproduction without any artificial enhancement.

 

Curious anyone who looked at the BeatsX and the Bose Wireless SoundSport headphones?

I like the sound of the Bose and the fact they let in a little ambient noise for using them in the office or gym, but the 5 hour battery is terrible. The BeatsX has a 8 hour battery, lightning charging, but aren't sweat resistant and are inserted into the ear.

I am leaning towards the Bose, but am not 100% sold.

 

I just bought the SoundSports. The sound is better than I thought a Bluetooth could be and they actually stay in your ears which is clutch. I never run them more than a couple hours and they seem to charge pretty quickly.

I’m happy with them.

 

How does the sound compare to the wired version? Mine 2nd pair just shorted out due to twisting and tangling and I'm thinking of going wireless just to prevent it from happening again

 

I wish I could tell you but I haven’t heard the wired version.

I just got tired of hearing the cord noises on my old headphones when I was at the gym so the fact that they’ve been alleviated was enough to elevate the SoundSports for me.

 

my fucking Shure SRH840's broke. The headband arm snapped. It looks like it was wearing out over time and eventually cracked.

So no problem, I found a new headband, I just need to take the earcups/drivers off the old headband and put it on the new.
holy fuck. I have to take every little screw out of the headphones (12 total), then solder (!) 2 connections on each driver. It's not that I can't do it, but I can't believe this is how the manufacturer designed these in the off chance they'd need to be replaced.

Luckily my co-worker who has a recording studio brought in a pair of Audio-technica ATH-M30s and Sennheiser HD280-PRO I can use in the meantime. I'll give my full review of each.

 

I'm looking for decent mid level over the ear bluetooth headphones. I feel like I've settled on the Sennheiser HD 4.50. Is this dumb?

 

You’re rarely dumb with Sennheiser imo.

Not sure if they are going for the Iron Man theme, or Lebron James, or what. They sound pretty good. Smaller ear cups are not as comfortable as others, and they feel flimsy, almost like toy headphones. But the sound quality is good.

 

that's the pretty much standard description of those cans for years now. Good value

 

considering they were free, I think they are an excellent value! :)

 

Any advice for an AirPod alternative for someone with smaller ears? Aunt needs a pair and wants the functionality similar to the AirPods but smaller. I told her to get some over the ears but she doesn’t want to mess with her hair.

Me neither. Didn't know if there was something people recommended that have interchangeable soft ear buds or something. Idk.

 

ANker or Aukey might have something like that, but I couldn't tell you if any of them have Airpods like functionality.

Those headphones are really good.

 

Just physically smaller because AirPods hurt her ears. She wants independent buds w/no wires. She's checking out the Ankers and I'll pass on your recommendations. Those Soundsports look sharp.

 

Anyone know the best way to go about using wired headphones on a TV that doesn't have an auxiliary port? I bought this which works however the sound isn't loud enough. I wasn't sure if there was a volume booster or amp that would fix this issue. I have a tuner for my sound system but it's an older model and the auxiliary port is bad.

Try to find a converter to take RCA (red and white round plugs) to 3.5 mini adapter. That is if the tv has the outputs. Some won’t.
If you have them then you can go rca to mini and get a headphone female to female 3.5 adapater.

 

They do make a male RCA to female 3.5 cord, I used to have one. That would be the ticket. Avoid cord on cord on cord. Still would like detail on the setup. I live to jerry rig stuff like this.

 

Gym headphone recs..

Looking for something that will be used primarily at the gym but could be used to listen to podcasts at work. Work environment can be loud at times. Was thinking about just getting the damn apple airpods but came across Jobra elite active 65s and was curious if ya'll had exp with them. Of course any others you want to hip me to would be great

 

I actually really like my BeatsX I was skeptical as hell but they perform well, and I use them to mow and stuff without much sound leak. They also have the W1 chip that is in the airpods so they work great with the new iphones. They also stay in well even without the ear fins they send with them.

I got white but yes. They work for calls as well.

 

Best option I could come up with was buying a cheap bluetooth dongle thing from Amazon and hooking that up to the RCA outputs on my Directv box and broadcasting it to Bluetooth headphones. That way you can control volume.

Fire Sticks have bluetooth streaming that works pretty well.

 

First trip with QC35s, why did I wait so long

 

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I have Bose quiet comfort headphones but am about to purchase Sennheiser Momentum 2.0. I've thought about new bluetooth headphones however when I've used bluetooth for movies in the past on my phone or laptop audio is always out of sync.

 

When paired to the Fire Stick, it's always been right on the money for me but I gave up on the bluetooth dongle because it was a pain in the ass to get connected and would delay from the satellite box.

 

Anyone have any recommendations for good, long lasting Bluetooth earbud style workout headphones? For the last couple years have gone the 25$ Amazon route but tired of them wearing out every six months or so and having to replace them.
