Welp it sounds like Tuesday through Wednesday morning will get a particularly dangerous red flag warning
Is the containment percentage of each of the fires going up at least? Hoping that doesn't get completely erased when the heaviest of the winds arrives in two days.
yes they are slowly getting more containment Pali fire seems to still be the one out of control the most.
First, why the fuck is he even there wasting these people's time? He isn't a resident and field. Go back to fucking Texas Second, lmao dumbass conspiracies. Stupid fuck has probably posted about Smelt. Third, hopefully some shifting winds do their thing
I cringe every time anyone mentions water storage. So happy to hear that FF explain to his dumbass that the hydrants aren't enough to extinguish an entire city and wildfires. It's not what's it's built for, nor does one exist.
The way the offshore pressure gradients are setting up, the strongest winds may be in Ventura County near highway 126 and Canyon Country/14 Freeway across northern LA County. Peak of the winds look to occur around midnight tonight through Wednesday late morning. Some of these areas might get wind gusts to 70 mph due to terrain channeling. Shouldn't be quite as bad here in OC or the rest of the area. Merely "critical" fire danger...ugh. Stay safe.
I know this shouldn't be as shocking as it feels. Fuck these people https://laist.com/news/housing-home...t-price-gouging-law-california-zillow-listing
this bitch went from crying about potentially losing her home to pushing RWNJ conspiracy theories not to mention the DEI bullshit. Fuck her.
Bert started going off that BLM or Antifa on the new 2 bears episode was starting fires. just absolute brain dead bullshit. Also he sees himself as a CEO and cant comprehend why people might be happy when a healthcare CEO gets murdered by one of their customers
allegedly it has already made it south of lake hughes road which is bad. Whole town of Castaic under evacuation order (19k people). My bff is actually north of there today and looks like she wont be coming home tonight due to closures and traffic from evacuees...
Fire started about 2 miles from my office this week. They had it contained within a few hours, but the rain this weekend will be most welcome.
oldberg Canyon fire still burning up there? Howard County is on fire #3 since last night. The dangerous fire weather weather hasn't even arrived yet. Danger. Danger.
Pauline trying to smoke out that Russian? A fast-moving wildfire in the Pine Barrens section of southern New Jersey had spread to 8,500 acres of the heavily forested area by Wednesday morning, prompting the shutdown of a 17-mile stretch of one of the state’s busiest highways, the authorities said. nyti.ms/3Gn192v— The New York Times (@nytimes.com) 2025-04-23T10:36:22.659Z
The fires are so extensive across Manitoba, Saskatchewan & Ontario currently that there are not enough air crafts to rescue remote Native Canadians. I am sending an SOS to every nation to help save the lives of people who are going to burn alive. Literally. Canada needs evacuation assistance.— Angela 🐿️ McEwen (@angelamcewen.bsky.social) 2025-06-08T14:20:35.691Z
It's going to be a bad summer, at least in the PNW. Very low snowpack, incredibly warm Spring with lower than normal rainfall. June is sometimes referred to as "Juneary" because it's always super rainy in anticipation of summer. This June has been 80 degrees with zero clouds. It's beautiful to experience, but it's not supposed to be like this so early.
Yep, hit 96 at PDX yesterday. I don't think the snowpack was that bad around here, but the excessive heat drying everything out this early is not good.
Been hot and dry the past 10 days and we had some lightning Wednesday and Thursday. 277 confirmed fires this year with 172 in the past week, 66 in the past two days. 289K acres burned so far.
