Looks great. Release date?
Watched it. Kept my interest as well.
Dracula was pretty good. The last episode was a little weak, but I really liked the first two.
Currently watching October Faction. Basically, the parents hunt supernatural creatures unbeknownst to their 17 year old children.
Acting isn’t great. Pretty poorly cast. Really shoves a completely unnecessary LGBT subplot down your throat. Overall, it’s pretty bad.
But for some reason I’m still watching and somehow still entertained.
She was quite nice as the maid in American horror story season 1
Looking for a good documentary especially one with multiple episodes. I’ve already seen the Aaron Hernandez one.
Finished s2 of Babylon Berlin, amazing show.
Sure is. I want more.
ETA: Speaking of, it looks like S3 premiered last night.
If you haven’t seen it, the Ken Burns Civil War doc is amazing. Vietnam, too
Pretty sure I've already seen the movie about the Kray twins with Tom Hardy but really wanna do a rewatch of all the great British gangster movies.
Not sure what you want but factual and historical WW2 in color is fantastic.
National Parks is good also.
Anyone watched Oasis:Supersonic? Has to be the worse music doc on Netflix. The sound is all jacked up. I've heard better sound quality come from a third generation recorded VHS tape than what's provided in this stream on Netflix.
Turned it off after about 30ish minutes. It was giving me a headache
Rise of an empire: ottoman was enjoyable
Guessing they paid a lot of $$$ but Netflix is going to have Uncut Gems starting this Friday. It will be interesting to see how long they have it.
Officially out after the dragon episode of the Witcher show. Show had potential, solid acting, and a decent foundation, but the writing sucks. I don't know what they are fucking up exactly, because I haven't read the books, but they either needed to take more liberties for television or they just suck at writing.
Definitely enjoyed it. My only complaint, or I guess something I find funny about it was
they talked all season about how big of a rivalry it was between them and Trinity Valley. Looked up the results for the daytona competition, and literally only those two teams competed. Of course they're rivals when only 2 Jucos compete at all. There were maybe only 14 or 15 colleges across all divisions that competed. For the biggest competition in cheerleading, you'd think there would be more. They also tried to gloss over the fact that they didn't win grand nationals, which is what they had been talking about all year. They lost to Texas Tech, and only won the Juco Division.
Still a fun show, nonetheless.
Thanks for info CUtigers
Big ups to the crew for executing without access. I saw handheld cameras brazenly in use, but maybe those were excluded - they were held by NJC students, seemingly
Isn't it an A24 film?
It is. Netflix usually carries a couple at a time that are streaming while the rest are on prime
Finished up Top Boy last night. Good shit!
Cheer >>> Aaron Hernandez doc please no further questions
watched the first 3 episodes last night couldn’t believe how captivating it was
I watched it. One of my fav documentaries, but I watched on Amazon Prime, so maybe that's what is up? It sounded fine there. Turning it on now to see what you mean.
Edit: Can kind of tell? After the first concert, I had to turn it up when they were talking. Other than that, I think it's great, and seems intentional. I fucking love this doc so much. A24 knocked it out of the park once again.
what is it?
The creator behind Last Chance U has a limited series about a juco cheerleading squad. Great production value and in some ways, elevated above Last Chance U.
I binged it.
Yeah, they weren't going to win grand nationals once that dude got injured. I also went and looked and saw the scores and they barely won. I think you have to qualify to get to Daytona so that might help explain the relatively low numbers. I get that the coach was a perfectionist but I didn't see that uber non-nonsense coach we were led to believe. I mean, it's a shit tier juco college in the middle of texas that offers full scholarships to cheerleaders. I seriously doubt they have much competition on a national level. Enjoyed it though. I'd watch another season with a bunch of new people. I wonder what that blonde chick is doing now that she left. She in jail yet?
my cousin followed all of them on Instagram, and apparently she is back on the team. That would make a whole lot of sense about having to qualify to get to Daytona. Bet you're right.
I'd be interested in them doing this type of show for all kinds of different sports.
I’m kinda obsessed with the ‘behind the curve’ documentary (flat earth)
Those guys are wacky
I can’t stop laughing
Just watched it. Hilarious.
Never thought I’d be watching a series on cheerleading, but here I am.
Finally got around to watching Don't Fuck With Cats last night...holy shit, what a ride that was
Fuck...I was really excited about watching that. Thanks for nothing Det. Frank Bullitt
So was I. I had seen theatrically, but was looking forward to another home viewing before the oscars.
Sounds like the blame is on US outlets (e.g Engadget) for incomplete reporting, and then not correcting/clarifying when it was clear there was conflicting info.
Couched in my original post was surprise (and possibly nonbelief?) that it would hit Netflix so fast, given the hype. That surprise was merited as it wasn't true.
Safdie Brothers tweeted yesterday a confirmation.
Edit: even here it doesn't say if the summer streaming is Netflix or standard VOD streaming ala iTunes/FandangoNow/Vudu/Etc.
A24 has had strong partnerships in the past (for free streaming) with AMZ and Netflix, so we'll have to wait and see.
I just tried to find it on Netflix and came here to seek help. Now im 50% sad, 50% angry and 10% confused. My days ruined.
Just downloaded it. Thanks Netflix.
Yeah. Fuck you Det. Frank Bullitt
Watched 3 eps of The Stranger and so far its a lot of fun. Wish British accents weren't so hard to understand sometimes.
Is this where we can bitch about Hulu?
Content aside, every other aspect of it is garbage. I’m watching a series I’ve already watched before. I’ll watch it continuously. One episode will end and the next episode will start like in the middle of the episode or at random parts, I guess where I stopped watching that episode before? So I have to manually start the episode over. Why would it not just play from the beginning of the episode like Netflix does if I’m watching in order and the next episode auto plays
Closed captioning helps a ton
Try being married to one. She occasionally uses rhyming slang too
I believe that I might binge watch the Police Academy movies.
They’re so good. Even the later ones are hilarious in a cheesy way.
