I hate seeing a good Netflix preview and it not being available immediately. Looks dope.
Documentary about Don’t fuck with Cats is crazy as hell
Man really enjoyed this as a quick 40 minute watch. Feliks is a good dude
Tread is a great documentary
Just watched Tread. Interesting doc.
That Marv guy seemed like an asshole.
He still has a fair amount of sympathy in certain circles out there, even after doing all of that. You could kinda tell it in the Thompson brothers...they know he was crazy, but respect him for it in a weird sorta way.
No doubt. It's a shame those around him didn't pick up on his mental state sooner. Dude was deteriorating in public view for some time.
That's the thing with outsiders in a small town. No one gives a shit about them unless they start to ruffle the wrong feathers. Funny enough, Marv actually played small-town politics about as well as you can as an outsider when it came to his civic dealings.
Really enjoyed this episode of the Timesuck Podcast about the same subject as that doc.
Even though it's just 6 episodes, the transformers cartoon is at least good for a quick watch
yeah...I had a couple co-workers suggest it to me and I wasn't really paying attention to what they were saying about it. The wife and I put it on one night thinking it was a comedy or something and we were totally shocked after the first fucking scene. Got sucked in and cranked the whole thing out in one evening.
Were the politics even that bad tho? Seems like he manufactured pretty much all of it
Judging by that Timesuck ep, they were pretty bad. He got royally fucked imo, but he should have realized that considering he was a transplant fighting a local. The cement guy was an enormous dickhead trying to fight Marv for land he had put up for auction, and then not allowing Marv to get plumbing (?) -- which really neuters Marv's ability to make money. Cummins thinks Marv is a dickhead, I think he just got really fucked and flew off the handle.
Also, the Rubik's cube doc is really good. If you guys liked it, and still haven't seen Magnus, watch Magnus. There's some similarity in that it's a kid trying to make moves in international competition. It's free on Prime, and it's one of my fav docs ever.
Y'all should give The Rain a watch. Final season came out last week. Only 20 episodes ranging between 40-60 minutes
Watching Ice Guardians, which is all about NHL enforcers. Pretty good, but also seems pretty one sided -- Kelly Chase himself is an executive producer. That said, I don't know too much about hockey, so maybe I'm wrong and it's not biased. I also think they oversell the mental toll -- to me, mentally it's no different than a boxer, MMA fighter, or even wrestler experiences before their matches. The only difference is that an enforcer is playing a team sport.
Also, if you're a Pens fan, it'll just piss you off hearing about Crosby.
Watching the series [Un]well. Talks about the rise in popularity of homeopathic medicine and the people who take it up as the cure-all for literally everything. Then it talks about the arguments against these quack cures and practices. Pretty interesting, and sometimes frightening, to see how some people sign throw their lives (and money) behind this stuff. The scans of MLM, the unnecessary suffering/deaths as a result of avoiding modern medicine in favor of questionable alternative medicine.
thought it was weird Mama Z wore her Miss Georgia crown and sash to church.
Sounds interesting and depressing. The past included stuff like snake oil and leeches though so maybe not an entirely modern problem?
Anyone watch tax collector yet?
It's not on netflix, I don't believe.
I didn't even notice this the first time I watched the trailer
Looks damn good
People forget Riley Keough is Elvis’s grandaughter.
How could I forget it if I never knew it was so??
there's another skarsgard ??
Ps that’s the one that plays pennywise
Just watched Project Power, premise was pretty cool, fun watch on a Friday Night
Not on the Best Coast mon ami
Tu es nickel
"teenage bounty hunters" dunno if i ever cringed harder in my life
"Tiny Creatures" -- looked like a cool nature documentary but seemed heavily staged. I was dissapoint
Project Power sucked. Not sure what Gordon-Levitt was doing in that movie.
What a fucking asshole of a southern accent.
movie hard sucked don’t watch
Yeah I am very surprised both he and Foxx agreed to that movie
Damn, thought he had a really good show
I started watching Norsemen last night. It’s nothing like I expected. I’m through two episodes and I’m debating whether to continue. Does it get better?
Warrior Nun got renewed for a 2nd season - the show got mentioned a few times in this thread.
You never know what Netflix will renew/cancel these days.
Yes. It really grew on me
Had not heard of it. Watched the trailer. Looks like a grittier Buffy the Vampire Slayer without the campiness.
Cringe in a good way or bad way? Haven’t seen it yet.
You can cringe in a good way?
Warrior Nun is fucking terrible.
It fully embraces all the tropes of “original” Netflix series without any originality whatsoever compared to every else out there
ah shit, had high hopes
Started “the woods” last night and it was intrigued after 1 episode. Will continue watching
was thinking maybe it had some of that awkward humor that makes you feel uncomfortable.
