Fair. There’s just so much shit out on these streaming platforms it’s tough to see what seems to be something of that quality not universally loved. But I think comic book movies are dumb so clearly I’m not the target demo.
I just started a petition to thread ban TC and if it was just me I would ban him from this earth altogether but I am for giving people a second chance
I really liked it. But I’m a sucker for Friday the 13th/camp films so that’s not a surprise. More awesome music.
for sure. Only issue I had with the music is a coupe times they just squeezed some songs in for no reason. Can’t remember the scene but within a minute they just randomly hit like 4 90s songs in a row that really didn’t do anything to set a mood. Good songs, but a couple times they weren’t needed
My wife was watching last night while I was going to sleep and I heard this happen a lot. It seemed they never played more than 5 seconds of any song and they kept going back to back. I wonder if it was a fair use thing where they didn’t have to pay royalties if they only use it briefly. Just a theory, but it was odd.
Fear Street 1978 is soo much better than 94. Better story, acting, atmosphere etc. 94 was pretty bad imo. 78 was pretty good
Right off the bat 78 was better. You get 2 main story familiar actresses. 94 was good but 78 was badass.
Finished Kingdom S2 last night and saw they’re releasing a stand-alone episode 7/23. Guess I’ll bide my time until then by watching Castlevania S3 and S4.
In very exciting news, the folks behind The Haunting of Hill House are going to be doing a new horror show for Netflix. They are going to be adapting hit horror comic Something is Killing the Children. https://nerdist.com/article/something-is-killing-the-children-horror-comic-boom-studios-netflix/
The War Next Door is enjoyable and very colorist but it knows it is and that makes it better imo I for one will binge it after Never Have I ever S2.
Just finished it with the wife. She watched marvel movies with me so I give her VR. We both disliked it more than the previous 2 seasons. Those seasons had plots and storylines that were resolved as the season progressed—atypical for Netflix shows. This season was the inverse—long, drawn out, and overly dramatic. Like ridiculous.
Gunpowder Milkshake... good action sequences for Kafdn Gillan. Best bowling ball use since Mystery Men Apparently it takes place in a world where iPhones don't exist because everyone uses fucking flip phones.
Netflix has hired Mike Verdu, a former EA and Facebook/Oculus executive, as vice president of game development to lead its efforts in expanding service offerings beyond film and TV.
Originally a teen horror book series in the late 80’s/early 90’s. Now a pretty entertaining teen slasher trilogy on Netflix.
Oh no. It’s based on RL Stine book series. It’s a common story across the trilogy and each part opens up more of the backstory. I wouldn’t watch it with kids, but it’s very entertaining and I’ll rewatch it again come Halloween. Cool slasher stories as well.
I’m pessimistic on 1666. 1. Horror set in that period always seems overly cheesy. 2. How are they going to cram in ten songs from the 90s. Hopefully only half of the movie is set in that time period.
I wouldn’t skip the first one. It’s still good and it goes into the backstory and what’s going on in the town. Its not like 1994 is some horrible movie, it’s just not as good as the second movie.
Spoiler I assume it would jump back and forth from the preacher who is supposed to be the worst killer and what is happening in 1994.
