Again- I haven't watched the show but fully intend to. Don't know what's going on and would appreciate not knowing
playing a part in a his death =/= "murder" He killed himself (presumably) out of shame for what he was doing OR fear of getting caught by Freddy (this is purely speculation---we don't know for certain why he killed himself). The only person that knew about their relationship was Nas, because he got curious when he saw homeboy getting sucked off. Whether deliberate or inadvertently, he set in motion the series of events that lead to his death. You can argue how much, but without Nas ever noticing their discreet relationship, I think it's safe to assume he would not have offed himself
I am confused by what you're trying to say. Originally you called it murder. I said he killed himself so how is that murder? Now you're saying it is not murder? It is also stupid to say a kid who was being raped would not have killed himself if someone hadn't seen it. Are you saying the shame or getting caught by Omar was greater than having to suck a dick and probably get butt fucked? Jesus fucking Christ. The kid killed himself because he was getting raped and thought he had no other option. Naz absolutely didn't set into motion the events that lead to a kid who was being raped to kill himself. You might be able to argue Naz not saying anything was the last straw but to say he set into motion the events is ridiculous. The constant rapes were what set into motion the kid killing himself.
Also, not being discussed here is that it's likely that his inhaler will help get him off at the murder trial, but it was also the tool used to facilitate the prison murder
At all times for me. Although there is video camera. I don't want the guards close by, my client won't talk.
Like others have said, it's a good show but by no means great. One of my main complaints at this point is that, here we are at the finale and I'm guessing that by this point( investigation, trial) the goal of this show is that I'm supposed to be asking myself did Naz actually kill the girl or did somebody else? Problem is, for me at least, is that the show hasn't given me a credible alternative to Naz being the murderer. Duane Reed-maybe The stepdad-maybe The Hearst driver-maybe Bodie-maybe The show hasn't developed any storyline as to why anybody other than Naz is the killer and that leaves me really not caring if Naz has been wrongly accused or not.
I thought the point of the show was to show potential deficiencies in the criminal justice system. That is why only his lawyer is investigating. I think we are supposed to assume he didn't kill her
I don't think they had a "relationship" at all. It seemed to me the big guy was forcing him to do the deed, and the young guy killed himself bc he thought that was the only way out of having to begrudgingly swallow a dick everyday.
Yeah he killed himself because he was forced to chug dick and that's pretty much all he had to look forward to for the rest of his foreseeable future. Big guy had him to afraid to tell Freddy because he knew he'd kill him the same as he would have killed Naz in the shower.
Yeah, I don't think this is a who-done-it show as much as a commentary on the process. Here we have a good kid from a working family, he had a couple hiccups in high school but nothing major, who is presumed innocent until proven guilty... in Rikers with hardened criminals.
That's the issue of the show. He (along with his family) were presumed guilty and have to prove his innocence.
Yup, that's what I assume they're going for - to show how an "innocent" person and his family are really not treated as such. Hence Nancy Grace in the background a few times.
Nasir's dad is the interpreter from 13 Hours, the 2 characters juxtaposed against one another kept distracting me.
My baseless prediction: Naz gets off and then struggles with the things he did in prison. Most of the episode revolves around Stone, etc. investigating the other characters on their own and leaving the ending open-ended, but with a hunch of who did it.
I'd be pissed if we don't get closure. I need to know who did it. My prediction is the verdict will be wrong. Either he did it and gets off or is innocent and gets convicted.
yeah this show will end up in the suck category if its a stupid cliffhanger with no real direction and "thats just the way it is" sort of ending
Yes and no. It might turn into an anthology type show like True Detective . But, this story is done after tonight.
Halfway through the ep. I know it's obvious but I just feel like saying the actor who plays Box has been phenomenal. Never seen him in anything before but was really impressed
The greatest thing I think I learned was Stone's affliction was caused by stress more than anything physical
Pretty much. I'm sure we could've had the same effect from the show without the stupid tattoos. An institutionally created drug addict is completely believe in this scenario.
