en route to 2nd thanksgiving. it’s all that’s standing between me, some gummies, and my annual The Last Waltz screening- a favorite thanksgiving tradition.
This destroyed me for some reason. Just finished up lunch w/Mrs. Seavie’s family. Headed to my parents’ now for dinner later this evening. Awesome day.
We do dinner. Right now we’re eating apps with the dog show on the living room TV and football on the back porch.
My family watches Tucker and Dale vs Evil every Thanksgiving Randomly started one year when we were looking for something to watch after everybody was vegging on the couch after food.
sufficiently satiated from a first round but held back to avoid the crash, preparing to engage in a little more boozing -> gummy -> round 2 party on wayne
Apps started with the Lions game, dinner at halftime, dessert in the 4th quarter. I’m still stuffed and wondering how I’m going to drink myself though the evening. Stuffing was extra good this year.
Food comatose is real. We ate around 1. By 3 I was asleep. Woke up at 5 and went for round 2. Currently debating which dessert to have.
Notre Dame does a great Thanksgiving meal so we did that today with my inlaws. Went around 1230 and home around 2:30. Spent the rest of the day smoking a turkey breast for “leftovers,” drinking, and watching football. Just took the sage sausage stuffing out of the oven, so that’s ready to go for Turkey and stuffing waffles tomorrow morning (plus leftover sandwiches the rest of the weekend) Thanksgiving is an amazing day and I won’t hear otherwise
got to my parents, my dad wanted my mom to check the turkey. it was done(she doesn't know how to test). so meal got moved up. this dynamic happens every year where the turkey is done a solid hour earlier than intended.
Just had leftover oyster dressing in the waffle iron with turkey and cranberry. This did not disappoint. Been making friends and family Christmas ornaments from dried okra with my mom. About to head to Clemson for the game. Elite Holiday.
??? She makes ornaments or some Christmas decoration every year to give to family and their friends and neighbors. I helped her get the holes drilled and the string tied to them. Last year was oyster shells.
I enjoy this holiday, Friday after is one of the best days of the year. No more cooking or stress and tons of great leftover food, football, and the weekend hasn’t even started yet
Happy Hot Brown Day to those who celebrate (and if you don't, you suck). Spoiler https://www.brownhotel.com/dining/hot-brown Lotsa different ways to make them. The one above is a little extra for two people tbh.
