Ehh my wife's grandmother will be 100 in November and she just stopped cutting her own grass in the last couple years. She still gets around well. Her eyes started to go earlier this year though.
Hopefully they've already mailed in his ballot. Spoiler idk the timeline of this even though I live here
I liked it better when we were just joking about taking away legos . I hope he’s doing as well as he can and is able to enjoy time with family
Jimmy Carter Achieves His Goal, Lives Long Enough to Vote for Kamala Harris Early voting begins in Carter's home state of Georgia on Tuesday, meaning Carter has achieved his goal and made it long enough to vote for Vice President Harris.
expect him to finally pass, potentially very soon, and then expect Trumpers to make a lot of noise about discarding the ballot because despite being "small gubment" they still don't grasp that most states do whatever the fuck they want and while a few states will discard a ballot if a person dies before Election Day, the overwhelming majority, including Georgia, do not.
Jimmy Carter was a very good person who was fundamentally not capable of restraining how evil the American government is, even as the president, enough to redeem it
He really threaded the needle between voting for Kamala and not having to endure another Trump Presidency.
one of the things that's overlooked with Carter is his vital role in virtually eliminating guinea worm. There were millions of cases of a year for this horrible affliction before his organization took this on, now there are fewer than a few dozen / year. (my wife worked for the Carter Center in Sudan many years ago, and I have a "control guinea worm" t-shirt around here somewhere). He was a good and decent man. https://www.npr.org/sections/goatsa...ea-worm-when-no-one-else-would-and-he-triumph
He obviously had his issues but I think he was the best person to be president in the past 70+ years or so
Was dealt an absolute shit hand. Good read on Carter’s last year in the White House. https://www.amazon.com/Crisis-last-year-Carter-presidency/dp/0399127380
Jokes aside, pretty incredible he went into hospice care 22 months ago. Seeing the videos of him in the fall wasn’t great, so I hope he has found peace and his family was able to grieve with him there. RIP
