Enjoyed this last night. It’s hard to beat a Monkish TIPA
Speaking of hard to beat IPAs...
Was going to drink that tonight instead went with this one
Are they in any stores, or do you have to go to the brewery?
Where'd you get that glass?
Found it from a guy on reddit, looks like it’s sold out from his store. He has the same username as his website
Electric is putting out amazing beers. Shit is incredible
They are the Monkish of the IE
Inside joke from a local podcast
At around 85-90 minutes from me, Electric is just a little bit outside the zone by which I'd be willing to drive to pick up. I'm hoping they start distributing but am not holding my breath.
Brewery is all I have seen. Odd Muse was at Lonestar the other day so maybe False Idol too.
Long Twitter thread somewhat related to what has been discussed here recently
Those 450 North guys should be in prison
That sucks. Was always a stop when I visited Minneapolis.
Well I made some purchases today
Hope some of that Tramping and Trailing makes its way to AZ.
Gets loaded onto a truck tomorrow morning.
You happen to know where they're going?
I know two places that have Casa around here but not usually much of a selection.
Sleepy Whale if I’m guessing
WT usually has Casa. That’s where I get it.
New releases look great man, congrats.
Random question for you - of the more standard hops that you guys use (Citra, Nelson, Mosaic, Galaxy, etc.) which ones are the most expensive and/or hardest to get? Just curious as to what the brewers look at as the most valuable or difficult hops (regardless of taste preference).
This is also where I usually find it.
False Idol so damn good!
Wandering tortoise. Owner of that place also owns other places that the bet goes to but WT is the main place.
Galaxy and Nelson are by far the hardest and most expensive. It took us 4 years to get a galaxy contract and we hope to have a Nelson contract next year. They are on average about $5-$15 more a pound than mosaic and Citra depending on whether you have a contract or not. Quality of those varies quite a bit depending on if you have a contract or not too.
All the Nelson please
Disappointed in this, but they all can’t be winners
What was disappointing to you? I have not had it fwiw.
Too sweet up front with a bad after taste. It tastes like a grapefruit. Not a grapefruit IPA but a grapefruit.
Gotta make it out there at some point...
Hello, I’m an idiot and missed this thread. Will be joining now. Huge craft beer nerd
This is unfortunately %100 accurate.......should just make 06, Cloud Architecture and the first Colossus more frequently
Thanks, that's interesting and I assumed those two were probably the hardest/most expensive based on how breweries act when they have a good Galaxy/Nelson beer, but good to hear that. Definitely appreciate breweries that go above and beyond and try to do some really good things with the more expensive hops.
I had two beers with Riwaka recently, and I assume that one is expensive/hard to get too since it looks like its an NZ-based hop, but damn were they both excellent.
Sabro might be my favorite hop right now
Galaxy stay #1, but Enigma is a recently discovered love.
Riwaka is the most rare. New Zealand crop are expanding so Nelson and riwaka will become more available in the next few seasons. Nelson has already become more available than seasons past.
Wally & the Gang
This was a top 3 beer I’ve ever had when i tried it a few months ago on tap. Still incredible in a can
I’ll be out there soon if you want to grab a beer together
Where you going to be at?
PHX is a big area, one can never assume. If you mean actual PHX I live downtown so yeah let's do this. We can hit the Theodore (owned by the Sleepy Whale ppl) and Wilderness.
Got a buddy that’s going to snag me some Celestial Linked Clone today. Galaxy and Nelson hops
