Just heard him on a pod a few weeks back talking the state of the world. He seemed down on things but was still great to hear. :-(
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ed_Norris Yep, all of the above corroborated in his Wiki. Dude is natural po-lice.
Started a rewatch. Early into season 2 now. The wife was asking what is each seasons main theme. Like season 1 is West Baltimore drugs. Season 2 is the docks. What is 3? The 4th is the kids/school/education. 5th is the newspaper. That sound right?
A modern day version would have him telling Bodie to invest all of his money on one of Logan Paul’s NFT scams.
My wife is watching the Wire for the first time and Wallace is about to happen. It’s about to be a shit show in here.
Hahaha, we just woke up (5:30 am in Tennessee) and the first thing she said to me was, “I woke up thinking about Wallace…That may be the worst scene in the history of TV…I’m never going to get over this.” Maybe I should have warned her.
The first time you watch that scene it’s devastating. The second time, when you know how it ends, isn’t much better.
I’ve been laying some groundwork on season 4. Dookie is going to break her heart the first time he steps on screen.
I need to rewatch this, it definitely doesn’t get the love it deserves, maybe because it was a mini series instead of multiple seasons.
Eh I’ve watched it twice and I’d suggest you devote that time on something else. Unless you were only paying half attention the first time round, I doubt you’ll feel like you got anything out of rewatching it. It was produced remarkably quickly so it’s not a surprise it’s not as well crafted as Simon’s other work.
I’m curious as to how the hot vegetarian guy from San Fran who played himself has changed since Covid started. The most sensible guess is that he’d be anti vax and probably dabbles a bit with Q Anon but I wouldn’t be certain considering his stereotype defying decision to volunteer to join The Marines in the first place.
Gator hoops has a freshman named Thomas Haugh pronounced the way as the asshole fuckup on The Wire. Luckily he's way more intelligent than fucking dumbass Hauk
We are on season 4, and just as I suspected, she is in shambles. I’ve had a couple of pops, but damn, this season is so hard to watch. Like, what can you do to help these kids/people in real life that live like this everyday?
Top that off with a bunch of born wealthy Republicans that have had everything handed to them in life lie about and villainize these tragic communities for political capital and personally benefit financially and politically when they do so. Best country in the world!!
Finishing up season two on rewatch #10 or 11 tonight Forgot how prominently the Key Bridge featured in this season until the past couple weeks
Old but just watched an Anthony Bourdain episode from 2009 where he visits Bmore...goes out to eat with the real Jay Landsman, and Felicia Snoop Pearson
