Anyone doing the updated method? Apparently there is a roster out there that has all 99s on the Rockies and 1s on every other team. It also causes for random games where you will have 150+ ABs. They're going to have to do something about this or else DD is going to get crushed by these CAPs.
I assume the biggest issue is the glitch with CAPs this year? I remember I’d run into a random CAP on DD before but very few and far between. Wonder if there’s a way at the very least to make it so if you have a CAP you play someone with a CAP, if your lineup is all MLB cards you avoid a CAP. Wont help for the SP thing but I’d rather go no CAP if that’s what it takes.
the biggest issue was the game being unplayable for like three weeks with embarrassing compensation for the time lost in a game mode where putting in the hours is a must
As in you play your RTTS on the Rockies against 1 overall players elsewhere? That leads to 150abs a game? Da fuck
I’m glad that the whole game sucks and not just Franchise mode. Tempted to go back to last years OOTP.
I'm not positive how it works, just saw some guys in a Discord talking about it and showing screenshots of games where they went 175/175 with 52 HRs by simming. They said they got like 3 of those games each season.
Lord. Would really help my cheating progress. But now that I’m done with the 2nd inning - I don’t see any point in simming through RTTS seasons for the chance to sell equipment/perks. I say that now until I get off work and start simming until I go to bed.
Who'd you get in your 2nd inning live series pack? I'm glad that they clarified that it's an 85-89 player.
Took Liam Hendricks, they give you I think an option of 4-5? He was the highest quick sell 2 players and about 600k in stubs away from completing the live series. Fuck me
Trout and DeGrom. I bought Ronnie as soon as I could afford him. He’s averaging around .550 in the lead off spot in all conquest games
I took an L in ranked with my SP back when he was a 93ovr but it was using a gold Kitchen Sink. I'd never be desperate enough to make my guy a submarine pitcher though. If someone was throwing submarine and painting corners I'd definitely quit. Pitching RTTS is more fun than batting. I actually like pitching my games. But yes you can have a 2nd CAP. Only one can be activated on your DD roster at a time. My SS is only an 86 right now and haven't used him yet so I'm not entirely sure how the Stamina factor works when you have a SP one game and SS for the games he isn't starting. ie - I don't know if you pitched your SP and then activated the Position player the next game if your SP would regain any stamina for "sitting" that game or if you activate him 3-4 games later if he would still be empty on juice. Probably try using my SS since he's over 100+ contact/power now so I'll find out the answer to this in the next few days.
I haven't had a CAP batter get a hit off me yet I don't think. Have only played against 2-3 once I got to HOF difficulty but I made a special effort to throw them garbage and people have CAPboners and swing way too freely with that batter so it worked in those games.
I was working on the diamond kitchen sink last night. My man struggles getting Ks in Vet/All-Star in conquest
I got the DD rtts points by playing rookie cpu games vs. the Orioles. Their lineup is trash and I think I average 20Ks/start in those outings. It's tedious/boring but there's an easy formula for pitch order: 1) sinker up and away 2) 4sm up and in 3) changeup low and away 4) if they don't strikeout on #3 - slider low and left 5) if they're still at bat somehow - 4sm up and in again Doing this fucks me up though when I transition to playing online. Get too used to throwing strikes. I'd say a conservative guess would be I throw 1/3 pitches for strikes online. Sometimes it's a lot closer to 1/5. I rarely throw a strike that's not a fastball. Just feed people sliders and changeups just outside the zone and then sneak fastballs in on the edges waist-high on 2-strike counts.
Anyone up for a friendly game this week? I ask just bc I'd like someone to see if I have any tendencies, especially pitching. Guy I just played was mowing me down early. Took me about 3 innings to realize he was throwing nothing but high sinkers and low changeup and sliders, both just out of the zone. Starting sitting high sinker and letting the other stuff go for a ball and put up 10 runs over the next 3 innings.
Back up to 780, so one game from the 800 level. I doubt I'll ever make WS, especially as many others get teams closer to mine, but getting to 800 would be an accomplishment for me.
I’d be down to play one of these evenings. All I do is golf and play video games and the weather is shit up here all week
I'll play you at some point if you don't use Chipper. I couldn't get over you knocking a homer against me with him.
Another tendency game. He had a lefty and started every lefty batter off with a fb in and then a cutter in, starting off plate and coming back to corner. Had 2 on with Ortiz up and he threw the inside fb and he cranked it for a 3 run HR. Put me up 4-1 and he quit 2 innings later, I guess to save his bullpen.
If it’s inner third... 90% of the time I rip it foul. CPU does the same thing and it slowly hooks straight into the foul pole for a HR. Even had a perfect/perfect I ripped foul the other night
Same although generally my opponents have snuck quite a few by me until it gets to that point. Add in the pop ups and ground outs and when it all comes together it’s magical. My favorite is the high and inside homer.
Yea I do too. I've learned that I need to get really inside the ball and not be early at all. I knew the guy was doing it for 2-3 lefty AB's prior to that one but hooked them foul bc I wadoubters. It's hard to wait when you're expecting a pitch and see the pitch. I was a little more patient with Ortiz and he hit a no doubter.
Make sure Winker is in your lineups or bench for PH duties on Events. He's an absolute monster in that.
Man I hope I can get done with this CAP soon lol boring as hell and I’d rather just play the game again.
Ok so jumping into ranked was a bad idea. I assume anyone 800+ started at 700 bc I played 2 games and one was 32-2 and the other guy had 132 wins. Got smoked both times.
Re: Friendly I think between the madden group I'm in (most of the core users are from here) and this thread, there could be enough interest to have a DD league. From what I understand you can play any opponents on your schedule in any order whenever you two are available. And you can set a team OVR limit so everyone would be on a level playing field. Can we do that?
Also obviously would be a NO CAP league. But I'd say a ~90ovr team is good enough to be fun and everyone probably could put one that good together.
We tried this last year and about half the people bailed after a week. That's what started this thread actually.
Im down for a league though. Would prefer Caps as long as there's no submarine pitchers but can go either way on it.
So you actually have to claim the 10 free packs from PSN store. Also XBoners will be getting them next month or so from what I read. Then you actually have to go to where you purchase stubs to collect them. Opening now.
Best pulls from the free 10 packs were an 80 Gold Blake Snell and a pair of Gold sunglasses that sell for like 300.
