Right, but at this point, the people who just want a stacked team...are going to have a stacked team. You might have a few different cards than your opponent, but really both teams are stacked and it's just all about who fucks up first and/or fucks up the most. It gets to the point that every at bat is the same...this hitter has max power...this pitcher is max filthy. Doesn't matter the names, it's just max vs max. As we've already established though, there's lots of ways to enjoy the game. At least neither one of us are one of those franchise grinders.
What I'm saying is the people that just want to have a stacked team really don't have completing LS as a goal. I only did it bc I wanted a stacked team. If I were starting the game now, or only 75% there, I'd just move on to TA3 and AS/Derby bc they are better. I just disagree that LS should be a goal. Honestly LS was just a means to a stacked team early for me.
Im never gonna complete LS becausei have never pulled a trout or even came close to saving up enough to afford him
I don't think he replaces the BR program Trevor Story for me but he'll for sure be my speed guy on the bench going forward.
Been saying this since day 1. He was my first V parallel and the only reason he came out of the lineup originally was to try out my first 99Ovr in Soriano (CAP was at SS by then)
Trying to get to Cespedes for free thru the moonshot event and one game is vs a guy with a world series badge and I get my shit pushed in then one game is vs someone who doesn't even have any new TA3 or HRD cards with their highest card like a 97. Rinse and repeat. At this rate it'll take me 60 games to get my 20 more wins.
I could not win to save my life yesterday. I have 12 so far today. Just ripped a WS guy a new asshole and I am only using AS cards to progress through TA. I'd rather do this and get Cespedes than play showdown. I won my first five in a row so real soon I'm about to get thrown to the wolves. Side note, I don't think this event totally ends tomorrow. If it's a shorter event the awards typically do not require 100 wins. But 10 away right now so I think if I can rip off 5 more today I am in good shape.
Yeah I think I read somewhere it's a 3-part event. I had about 7-8 wins the first day it started, then Sunday was rough so I stopped. Now it's a toss up. With my luck the next part will be 6 inning games on HOF. Showdown wasn't too bad for me and like someone said ITT they take about 25 minutes per
This is me. I’ve played DD the last few years but never have messed with any of the collections because I know I don’t play enough/don’t want to spend real money. So my goal has always been get enough guys my team can compete/win games on RS and that’s about it. 99 Sho will probably be the first one I try to do because it seems like I might be able to pull it off after I grind showdown 50x and then figure out the last few cards.
It's not many Showdowns. For each division I've done: 15 pt exchange 15 pt exchange 10 pt exchange 10 point legend collection 2.5 showdowns So 5 showdowns cover 2 divisions. I have the AL and NL west left so just need 5 more Showdown and I'm done.
Yeah I’ve been able to do most of the exchanges thankfully, and there’s so many low 90s cards that cost like 5-7K if needed I just buy a couple of those to finish it. Only reason I’m hesitant to do that was hoping I have stubs left for the HRD guys I’m going to need. Not sure what that will run me, so trying to stay above 380K in stubs if I can.
In the midst of a good old fashioned freeze off. Not sure how many minutes it's been but going on 30 I'd say. I don't know how to freeze off. I am losing 2-0 in Moonshot and it's only the top of the first. Trea hit a single, a slider didn't slide so he got knocked home. I then proceeded to K him five times in a row, which I didnt think was possible in this Event. My man AS Salvy sailed two dropped third strikes over Walsh's head. So he may be pissed off about that. Also, Walsh is a fucking beast as well. Can't get back on the sticks until about 9PM so we shall see.
Not sure I’ll ever understand the base running in this game. You tell a dude to hold up at a base next thing you know he’s 7 steps past it before he decides to turn around.
I'm a big dork so I've been timing my Showdown. Just gad my fastest time, 15:51. I don't think I can do faster. That's from hitting start drafr to exiting after DeGrom. Only have 1 left, thankfully.
I swear half the time it’s taken me longer to beat Hader or the dude from SF compared to Degrom. Probably just jinxed that.
Yea DeGrom is the easiest one bc you only need 1 run. The one that has taken me the longest is the first one. If you don't get 2 runs in your first 4 batters, you have to wait 5 more batters to get a competent batter lol. Lineup gets longer as you go.
Yep I’ve noticed that too. A couple times I’ll get a random bad hitter on and I’ll sac bunt with the pitcher just to avoid the double play lol assuming he can get it down.
Finally finished TA3. I didn't open any packs while doing it so here's everything I have no. A few are from 4th inning progress.
Done with TA3, just need 6 more cards to get Ohtani. It’s too bad they didn’t give him a secondary position tho.
Both depending on the situation. When I posted that I was using the button, had a guy on 2B ball roped into RF so I hit X to bring him home, but the ball got to RF super fast so I clicked square to get him to stop at 3B. Next thing I know the cutoff guy throws to 3rd and my runner is diving back and out.
Yea he's so expensive to get that they really should have given him OF secondary. Not sure if he'd get stamina while playing OF though.
I gotcha. The buttons have felt even worse for me this year than previous years but I still feel like it's way better than L1/R1. But yeah there are times I have a 2 or 3 guys running the bases and trying to tell one to go home or one to stop somewhere can end up in a cluster.
Ended up buying back Vlad, made 2k stubs total lol. Had to buy Mancini, Story, Soto, and Realmuto too.
Ugh some games can be so frustrating. My 8 hits to his 2, my k 5's to his 11. I lose 2-1 on 2 solo HR. Just hard hit ball straight to him all game smh.
This is really going to suck when I make my return to RS with all these 99s and end up getting no-hit by deGrom
Speculation is that it'll be similar to the Ruth program from last year. The schedule says "prepare your all-star squad" so I don't know if that means there will be a collection or if you just get to use all the all star content they just dropped
I'm just ready for these ASG and HRD packs to leave the market so I can sell off my investments soon. Derby cards are up a tiny bit and hopefully ASG will follow.
Extreme (Yelich, Pearson, Gehrig) was different from Ruth (stand-alone, accomplished via moments) I really just want the MVP Walker card but these assholes keep dropping new content
