My wallet and closet are not going to be able to handle me being able to easily cop all the Jordans I want coming out in 2025....
These are heaters. They match the 5's that they came out with last year. At this point I'm limiting myself to any UNC retro (until I have a unc version of every jordan) and a Kobe colorway if I really like it. All the availability is awesome for sure!
Interested to see how 2025 plays out for Jordan. They have a bonkers lineup, curious if they'll be limited or flood the streets. They need to get back to being cool again, somehow. Kids just aren't wearing Nike/Jordan right now.
Bred 1 85 cut, couple 1 lows OG/85, Aqua 8's for Lil Bish and Myself, and maybe the Flu Games are on my list right now. Who knows what other surprises come.
Metallic 5 (super nostalgia for me) I don't even wear many J's but I'll still be picking up these: AJ3 Lucky Shorts AMM AJ3 WC AJ4 Undefeated AJ4 SB4 Navy
I’d much rather have the bike Jordans that are red and white. That all red wouldn’t be pulled off by me lol
those aren’t close to what I’ve seen also I believe there are supposed to be two versions one with the jumpman and one with air
Jordan is tired of being not cool, they are unloading everything. That Banned 1 being limited to 10k pairs is a sign they are going back to small batch. It worked last time, let's see how it goes this time.
I liked the heavily produced “uncool” get every pair I wanted at retail, I haven’t been in StockX for like almost 2 years and it’s great, I’m too old to chase pairs or overpay I’ll just stop buying pairs all together
are those the actual numbers for the 85 Banned that is releasing on the 14th? How is anyone getting a pair
As for getting them, idk that's going to be tough lol. I called for help and got a "Let me see what I can do" lol. Not holding my breath.
All the work they supposedly put into those doesnt seem worth it for 10k pair. Pretty shitty for the 40th anniversary.
This is all about building hype back imo. They spent like 3 years mass producing everything, same thing they did from like 2013-2016. There was talk on this board about Jordan being dead dead. Then they came back with The Ten and got cool again. I don't see these having the same moment The Ten did though.
Absolute bullshit. If you can’t build hype for Banned 1s you’re not going to do by not allowing anyone to get them.
Fact is us weird sneaker people like limited shit. Some only care about that, but we're all suckers for it to some degree. Don't lie to yourself about that lol. When everything is mass produced, it gets boring. There's no hunt, there's no excitement. Last time Nike/Jordan went mass production, Adidas was the one that capitalized. This time it was NB and Asics. Then Nike came back in like 2018 and went small batch and I had a SNKRS app reminder for everyday on my work cpu bc it was limited shit after limited shit for like 5 years lol. That notification still pops up daily, just never got rid of it.
Just went and looked, I added that notification 5/6/21. Almost 4 years of daily reminders nc snkrs app notifications were broken.
I think we’re on a different timeline now though. Sneakers were like the flavor of the week for hotness during that time period. Now its moved to pokemon and baseball cards and shit. I think theyre trying to build back hype for something that isnt going to happen until its sneakers turn to be popular again in a few years. Shit goes in cycles.
I don't disagree. I don't think they'll get anywhere close to that 2018-2021 run but I do think they can at least steal the spotlight back from NB and Asics.
They had an ugly pair of 11s release a few months back and there were 500+ people in line at the Nike store. New balance and others are big but Jordan Brand is fine
seriously there ain’t a line for NB or ASICS ever here where I am from and never seen a young urban kid wearing them ever only seen my mid 40s white dads rocking them, no Hispanic or African American young person out here rocking there New Balances never seen them sitting on shelf at a sneaker shop around here, but I’m in the Bay Area maybe it’s different in more white MAGa areas ?
Young black and Hispanic kids wear both here. I see them every time I'm in the sneaker shop these days.
9060 were made popular because of Joe Freshgoods. Outside clothes and indoor voices are both big because of him. I don’t think NB is strictly a white people brand anymore. They have some great colabs.
I ain’t never seen them on kids feet in greater numbers than Jordan’s ever out here never seen a line out the door or raffles to get their ASICS
I wore new balances today. I have a few pairs but yeah they’re never taking over Nike. I thought Jordan Brand broke records last year? Sucks for my wallet if there’s only 10k pairs as many will get backdoored but I’ll probably still buy them
Nobody suggested NB was overtaking Nike lol. Nike fucked up on a lot of ways the past few years and brands like NB and Asics took advantage of it and grew their profile. Action Brunson, Kith, ALD, Joe Freshoods, Jjjjound, miu miu etc have all been very productive collabs for them. Still nothing close to Nike but much bigger than they were in 2018. Go to a Nike outlet and see how many Jordan's are sitting. They are selling a lot of units bc they are mass producing everything. That's great for short term profit but we all know that's a quick way to becoming uncool. It's already happening. They'll flip back to some small batch now imo.
Sometimes it seems like Nike/Jordan cant figure out their own problems. I think they could have kept with their usual production numbers across each silhouette and been fine if they hadnt also flooded the market with tons of colorways at the same time. You dont have to make everything extremely limited. Just dont pump out so many colorways. Like 1’s pre2020 or so.
Agree. The CEO was fired for a reason. He wasn't from the sneaker world and didn't get it. He just saw "oh people like dunks and aj1, make a billion colorways."
Many of the colorways are absolutely terrible. They need to do more releases with premium materials. I'm completely fine paying 3-500 retail and everyone else would be as well if the colorway and materials were right.
No, $300-500 would greatly reduce the amount of people that could buy them. 10k pairs? Sure. But they can't do many mass gr's at that price point. "Everyone else" simply can't do that.
I'm not talking about gr. I'm talking about brand hype. Many of the stuff you listed the other brands are doing to get relevant aren't mass releases.
I don’t follow Nikes stock prices and or their market share or profits so I ask #Sneakers anyone who does know how them being “uncool” has impacted those things? Only people who releasing such limited stuff will help is resellers. Consumers are stupid and for some reason people that were bashing these 85 are gonna hop on the dick because the numbers are gonna be so low.
The limited things are used to build brand hype. If the cool kids are wearing a limited aj1, the random guy that knows nothing about shoes will walk in and buy a gr aj1 mid at Dick's bc its the same thing to him. Been the cool brand in sneakers circles drives sales in non-sneaker circles.
I guess im just salty because obviously what is good for the regular consumer isn’t what is good for the company. 250 was already going to price most people out now the ridiculous numbers basically ensures most people won’t get them. I know that Kylebw1 wasn’t trying to be douche but realistically your average person isn’t spend 3-500 on a shoe. I’ve tried to buy Banned twice. First time was 5 or so years ago I spent close to 8 on a pair on Goat but when they got them they didn’t pass inspection and were returned for being Fakes. Second time I lay 4 also on goat and shoes that were supposed to be DS were actually used and I declined them.
