I’m sorry. It was a complete blow for me and the way I’ve had to change working out
Thanks, man. I think I just threw too much wide grip volume at it too soon. Hit some close grip backoffs and it’s much better
Yeah. To go from a working weight on bench from 245-275 down to 135 has been humbling but I win all the hypertrophies this way.
I'm also back in the 135 bench crew. Been doing sets of 20
apologies for quoting my same post for like the 3rd time but whenever you get a chance to post that gif you have to.
I'm also back in the 135 bench crew. Kept trying different ways to bench heavy including slingshot only and nothing worked, so now I'm just trying to add more volume.
Yep. I always feel like a douche bag pumping out 135# reps and people looking like dude you got more in the tank.
I’ll go decline, flat and incline 100 reps each. Typically 50,30,20
I have to drop to 95 on incline because of the fucked shoulders so I feel like a really strong woman which is a huge confidence booster.
I've also gone back to not quite locking out every rep. It was a bad habit I formed a few years ago when I was trying to be eric spoto, but I find it helps me keep my shoulders on the bench and everything tight
That sucks, sorry capstone. Been thinking about what I can do with this trap issue I got going on and if I seriously fuck it up and leg machines are pretty much the only answer I got.
I started doing more band pull aparts and going over my head to my back with them. I found that helped. That athlean X guy is super douchey but I have found a couple of his things have helped some minor injuries I was working through and that was one of them.
Also gonna bring my Shoulderok back out.
Haven't watched Athlean-X in some time but literally what I'm doing. Get a very low resistance band and do the press-behind head-pull apart and definitely helping things.
same on athleanX guy. his ql stretch and a few of the shoulder mobility videos helped me at times.
I think I wasn’t staying tight enough and my scap was moving too much. Going into too much internal rotation and caused some irritation. Should be good after this week
would very much like to see the Sheffield event and ProRaw Australia, esp since there's literally no sports going on.
lord help me, i am low bar squatting again.
Sent you a PM!
Crossover Symmetry is legit.
Pulled 405#4x10. Oh Lord.
First set felt like 1 plate.
Ankles y u so immobile :(
My old lady had the best troll today. She said Life Time closed. She got a notification.
Scrambled to my phone like a barstool bro finding something to gamble on now that every sport is cancelled.
My heart can only take so much.
Did a left arm pressing workout today(right shoulder/trap is fucked) with left arm snatches and rows. It's my weak arm so maybe I can get them closer or maybe it was just stupid. 3X10 db snatches made me wanna puke, in good shape but don't think CrossFit is in my future.
hensleya Really interested in your wall control setup.
Really excited about it. I’m going to be their home gym ambassador, which is pretty cool. Maybe an opportunity to create some products for the community.
pictures coming soon once I get it installed.
I’m just sitting here drinking my coffee, waiting to poop so I can start my workout...
....aaand let’s go.
Who's nervous about going to the gym??
We've got clorox wipes across the gym and can wipe shit down as needed, but every single plate has been touched too
The gym is always a cesspool of germs. I caught staph at an old one. Just need to calculate if it’s worth the risk for you
Yeah, I feel pretty hypocritical having my family and I practice social distancing and then making an exception for the gym. I think I’m going to stay away for now. Really wish I would’ve put in a home gym now that I was considering!
Yeah, feel ya. I think I might just go in some walks.
But is thst even safe
My gym is a county reccenter chain, imagine it's closed by Monday or super limited.
Have home gym but no rack so just gonna substitute lunges in and DB presses for the foreseeable future.
Thankfully its beautiful outside here. Will be running outside for the foreseeable future. Good bye gains
Only like 12 verified cases in IN and none in this county but I find myself hyper aware of everything the others around me are touching
I run an infection prevention team for a global disinfectant manufacturer. While the wipes are there they are probably not being used correctly. Read the back of the label and it will tell you the contact time needed to kill the pathogens listed on the label. I assume the product is probably the Clorox wipes you can get at Target or the like. The wet or contact time is 4 minutes plus. Make sure that those touch areas stay wet for that time or pathogens can be left behind.
it is obviously up to whatever you feel comfortable with, but my decision has been to do stuff away from the gym for the time being.
make sure you do wash your hands plenty often and hand sanitize if you can’t wash.
Yeah, what everyone is touching is every single plate in the gym
Yup. I think I'm leaning this way unfortunately
Just do Alan Thrall’s coronavirus workout in your garage. Problem solved.
Side note: no idea when and why he dropped so much weight. Assuming he’s shifted his focus from powerlifting?
If ICOVID-19 takes me out I’m going out on a high note. Hook gripped a 555 single @8.5 RPE. Positioning and grip was on point.
Picked the perfect time to build the garage gym. My old gym was full of savages who are almost certainly on the "this is all fake news hysteria" train. I have to assume it's already a cesspool of Corona virus
Hit a PR on split jerks, happened to be my bod weight.
Cool to know I could put one of me overhead if I had to.
Never leave home without em
Under Armour Men's Locker III https://g.co/kgs/6uRKGp
Imo the ground is lava at the gym. Never ever touch it.
Due to the recent covid19 pandemic and subsequent raiding of super markets I declare it is officially Cutting SZN. If you can't get in a caloric deficit right now you'll never be able to.
Best deal on kettlebells?
Check rep fitness cast iron. Great prices and just as nice as rogue, etc... that’s who I use.
What do you very strong people do with big kettlebells?
I use them for lunges and swings for the most part, just wondering.
Goblet squats usually. Occasional swings.
I like using them for goblet squats to warm up before back squats. They're also good for a little cardio burst at the end of a workout, I usually do 3 sets of 15 kb swings. This dude seems to be the expert if you want to learn more
same. I just can’t justify going to the gym when my work is closed, schools are closed, etc. just seems too selfish. Guess I can just run and do a lot of push ups and jump squats
Since it’s gonna be wonky the next few weeks I thought I might start something different. I’ve heard good things about Stoppannis 6 Weeks to Shred, or something to that effect. Anybody have a copy of it? Having a hard time finding it
