4 x 195 KG log for Trey Mitchell today, dude is a monster. Think Mitch Hooper likely wins but Trey is a certified bad ass at this point.
Hooper 1st Mateusz 2nd Really weak Arnold's this year but got a new monster in Hooper and hopefully Mateusz stays healthy. Seems like Tom Stoltman just peaks for world's strongest man then doesn't give a fuck the rest of the year.
Shaw seems to be only strongman in that category. Would have been much better but Martins is taking the year off and Novikov wanted a break Graham Hicks missed US events last few years bc he didn’t want the jab but on WSM list this year so guess he finally got it or some exemption
Ashton seemed to do well too I was perusing Instagram stories tonight and wtf was Buettner going on about, still a queen but weird af at times.
Getting older and the knowledge you gain around lifting can be a good thing. But unfortunately that includes knowing that if I tweak my wrist during bench I can still finish the workout if I keep it loose/keep moving even if that means it’s going to be painful later doing things like unloading the dishwasher.
TRT/HRT is quickly becoming the latest fitness industry grift and it's going to have a lot of serious side effects for the people that just blindly jump into the deep end with it.
TRT is just fine. There’s a really good book called Ageless Man by a French doctor who researches and studies how much of a health benefit it is to have testosterone in the upper reference range. the problem are these TRT+. instead of it being called mini cycles which is what they are
Taking DHB for a long duration sure is a choice. These HRT clinics that prescribe anything outside of approved for human use drugs are going to get people hurt
I can see how how it’s tempting to stay on. Mild sides with tren lite results. But yea not a long enough studied and researched drug to be on a consistent period of time for. A case can be made for BPC 157 and TB500. While it’s marketed as not for human consumption, its healing properties can’t be denied. Anyone that’s had an injury whether it be in powerlifting, bodybuilding, or any top level sport and has made a quick or quicker than expected recovery, I can almost guarantee they ran a regiment of one or both of those.
I’m not concerned with the peptides. The chances those go sideways is extremely minimal. It’s shit like DHB that has no use in long term administration. Some of these drugs are super liver toxic and people just run them Willy nilly
the main concern is long term heart health as that’s where the bulk of the damage is done across all AAS usage when abused and no support meds and supplements are taken alongside it. DHB was once considered to be taxing on the liver but with its popularity and increase in use, it looks like that was grossly overstated. It’s a fairly mild compound but one pippy bitch.
On the heart health front, boldenone is very very likely to increase hematocrit and hemoglobin. So I’d have concerns, especially for a guy with pre-existing heart issues, to take something that’s going to drive that up. Just seems like a high risk compound for that situation.
DHB does increase hematocrit and hemoglobin but that’s an easy remedy by doing blood donations every 3-4 months. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not defending what he considers “HRT” in any way. I’m of the opinion the only thing that’s safe to take year round is testosterone dosed at an amount that keeps levels in the upper reference range. But that can also elevate rbc, hct, and hgb.
This Sheffield meet is gonna be incredible, Jesus just putting up insane numbers Hit a deadlift PR of 540 today wasn’t as smooth as I wanted as I’m a grip and rip puller and felt slightly off. Still well behind Buettner but happy enough to have a few drinks
First meet since before quarantine today, and first USAPL meet. Finished up 628/428/539. Good to finally get back on the horse
I like being 5’10 175 with an SBD split of 325/285/405 and seeing the stupid numbers some of y’all are moving in here
I have nothing to contribute besides that I've doubled down on my affinity for Rich Piana (RIP) memes and I'm not ashamed to admit that
Am a bit jelly of that bench Currently claiming 6’(doctor approved 5’11) as the world is full of liars and bench is right around yours at 225
Finally back into weightlifting consistently and everything is great, but fuck my shoulder is killing me. I've got impingement and maybe something wrong with the cuff, but docs and PT have both said there's nothing to surgically fix, just do exercises. When I go heavy, it hurts but eventually feels better by the end of the workout. Anybody else deal with this? Not sure what to do, going down a bunch in weight seems like it would be pointless?
It’s not pointless. Give your body time to heal and train what you can. You can still gain strength and size with light-moderate weights. Just have to program smart. Back in 2021 I didn’t bench over 300 the entire prep because of pain and hit 347 on the platform.
1035 and 600 so far, just get that 900 now goat level performance. HWT female killing it too, no idea what the atwr is but gotta be up there
