Not to defend Marco -- I only went down this rabbit hole to investigate an alternate illegal theory -- BUT is anyone other than that twitter user reporting those facts? I spent entirely too much time on the Miami Dade recorder's office site and they seem way off. The mortgage he took out in January 2021 and paid off in *December* 2021 was from a hard money lender -- probably a bridge or construction loan. The 2015 mortgage on his prior residence was satisfied in June 2021. In July 2021, the family trust TOOK OUT a mortgage for the same property as the Jan 2021 mortgage, and the lender on this mortgage is the same as the lender on the outstanding 30 year mortgage reported on Rubio's 2021 financial disclosure (and the 2015 mortgage). I didn't find any sign of a release of that mortgage on the recorder's site, so I think someone may have bad info.
