I just switched parties from R to D, but have voted Democrat in all 3 presidential elections. Looking back, Romney is probably as good as it gets in the foreseeable future for GOP presidential candidates. State and locally has been pretty split.
All of them And I did vote for Obama twice, simply because Sarah Palin seemed fucking retarded to me the second she walked out on the stage. That was the first light I saw while in the darkness
All the early numbers are certainly favorable for Northam. If turnout is as big in NoVA as expected ..
Good link for live results if you want to watch counties come in in VA https://www.nytimes.com/elections/r...n-gillespie-northam?smid=tw-nytimes&smtyp=cur
No wall, no O care repeal, no tax bill. But they will find a way on taxes, but has to be much different than current.
the guy had literally just said he voted democrat. we need to be extending olive branches to these people switching over.
Gillespie isn't getting Trumpian margins in rural districts he'll have to get traditional Republican margins in white collar districts to have a chance
This is THE guy to listen to when it comes to Virginia politics. He is to Virginia what Jon Ralston is to Nevada.
unless Gillespie over performs margins in NOVA (which seems unlikely) this is potentially the slightly aggressive prediction but mostly in line with returns
THe fact that the race is neck/neck with none of NOVA in yet is very telling. all the returns are from the rural areas (12% total)
I mean I know you guys are gun shy, this isn't going to be close. Going to be a massive loss for the Republicans
Maybe the bigger (local) news, if this is as big of a win as it seems, the virginia state house is going to tighten up considerably
Their voting base is helpless. But politicians are about to realize that running campaigns like Gillespie did in toss up states like Virginia just will not go over well. Although it may be good if you want a paying gig on FOX News after you lose an election.
I hope they don't learn anything. I don't want them to get any better at masking who they are. I realize they will. I'm not sure my point but fuck conservatism.
Now that it looks like a sweeping victory I look forward to the Dems dwindling away their good fortune
