Pelosi has been an opposition leader before and did a fine job. She is old af and it would be great to have younger blood but she's fine
Meh they haven't really done anything. I mean they couldn't actually do anything so I'm not blaming them. But not much to give credit for.
Congress lost the power when they let the post-Watergate statutes to lapse in the late 90's. Now, the procedure is governed by federal regs.
Lavar Ball would be an impressive press secretary for this administration, Spicey better watch out for his job.
Pelosi is a good opposition leader, she would not be an ideal speaker of the House, but she would be much better than Ryan.
I mean he's essentially piggy backed the Trump strategy of say outlandish shit = free publicity from the media.
The American people — not to mention the credibility of the world’s oldest democracy — require a thorough, impartial investigation into the extent of Russia’s meddling with the 2016 presidential election on behalf of Donald Trump and, crucially, whether high-ranking members of Mr. Trump’s campaign colluded in that effort....This is a tense and uncertain time in the nation’s history. The president of the United States, who is no more above the law than any other citizen, has now decisively crippled the F.B.I.’s ability to carry out an investigation of him and his associates NYT editorial. If I was really stupid I would wonder why people are being so dramatic though. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/09/...-comey.html?smid=tw-nytopinion&smtyp=cur&_r=1
Yes, but he says these outlandish things with such conviction that he makes you think that he actually believes them. That is something that Spicer has been unable to do and something he will need to be able to master the art form of lying for a living.
Paul Ryan is smug about about passing a tax cut/healthcare bill that will put 24 million + off health insurance. Ryan is too stupid to know he put his majority at risk for an wildly unpopular bill that confirms: Democrats are going to run on Medicare for all in 2020. Pelosi talked Congressman into voting for ACA, something they knew would end their political careers, but would help Americans. Intentions matter.
In January, the hands of the Doomsday Clock were adjusted to two and a half minutes to midnight: the closest they have come to catastrophe since 1953. Attributed to rising nationalism, wavering public confidence in democratic institutions, Donald Trump’s comments about nuclear weapons and his repeated denials of the existence of man-made climate change, the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists warned that “global danger looms”. http://www.economist.com/blogs/prospero/2017/04/writing-end-world
If the Republican party doesn't want to be called racist, they could either stop taking Mercer's money, excommunicate Steve King, or stop with the voter suppression. Don't hold your breath.
Fuck her and fuck the fucking first family. They (sans maybe Baron) are horrible human beings who are fucking this great nation up for the alinighty dollar.
The most powerful man on the planet yells at the tv when it upsets him. But as long as Trump lowers taxes on pass through corporations, America will be Great Again.
IVANKA TRUMP WROTE A PAINFULLY OBLIVIOUS BOOK FOR BASICALLY NO ONE Women Who Work” is mostly composed of artless jargon (“All women benefit immeasurably by architecting their lives”) and inspirational quotes you might find by Googling “inspirational quotes.” Her exhortations feel even emptier than usual in light of Trump’s stated policy goals The notion that Ivanka’s reticence on political issues conceals an innate goodness and a sort of strategic genius that can only be deployed behind the scenes has been crumbling since November. As I wrote last year in a piece about her previous book, Ivanka possesses a type of beauty that often passes as moral uprightness http://www.newyorker.com/books/page...painfully-oblivious-book-for-basically-no-one
I know it will never happen but it would be great if Comey was named as the independent special prosecutor.
At this point??????????? The GOP has ALWAYS been the greater threat to America. Just look at the mess the last regime made and they weren't even bootlicking fascist garbage.
I just don't see any possible way this doesn't end in horrible bloody violence if Trump isn't impeached. Not saying it'll happen now or even 10yrs from now but if we allow a foreign hostile government to interfere in our election and then let our President shit on all our institutions while eliminating checks and balances, this only gets worse. Think about how many different nations will fund their own candidates and run their own misinformation campaigns every election. In order to get power back Dems will have to put someone up that will just escalate things in a liberal direction. Once the people lose faith in our institutions you can't put that genie back in the bottle. It's only a matter of time before you're looking at armed conflict, unless we as a country send a message that we won't tolerate the actions of Putin and Trump.
So which narrative works best for you bleeding hearts? A. Comey fired because he was close to exposing trump B. Comey fired to keep Hillary out of jail C. Comey fired because he wants to spend his twilight years alive D. Comey fired to sure up trumps inner circle
I know a lot about the scummy shit Chuck does and has done through the years from people who've worked for him and still do. But compared to our golfer in chief he's a saint.
Guy went full Nixon and we're not even 10% into his four year term. Trump hasn't even thrown his second ball of the first frame and the bowling alley is on fire.
