I live in a part of Beaverton, OR where I’m about 4-5 blocks from million dollar homes, I personally live in a typical neighborhood, and 4-5 blocks the other way is some lower income apartments and townhomes with a high number of 1st and 2nd generation Mexican immigrants. The busiest place to eat in our entire neighborhood among the rich, middle-class, and poor is a taco truck. The neighborhood also supports 3 other taco trucks, on the same road, within 1 mile of each other in a suburban Beaverton, OR. Long story short, taco trucks on every corner is amazing and a bunch of kids and adults interact with each other daily without it being a problem. Spoiler we also have a high % of Asian people in our neighborhood, my neighbors own a great Japanese restaurant and we have several Asian markets in the area. Having grown up in small-town, white America, the diversity of food and culture is awesome. Especially when a lot of Portland is very white (food is diverse all over, but culture not nearly as much)
