If none of us ever read a book that was "dangerous," had a friend who was "different," or joined an organization that advocated "change," we would all be the kind of people Joe McCarthy wants. - Edward R. Murrow
I wish our investigations would be made public like the findings Canada did with the Quebec shooter knowing his by far #1 twitter interactions was Ben Shapiro was telling, knowing how long he spent on right wing blogs, etc is good information for people studying radicalizing white supremacy
Imagine the complete and total outrage if Obama went golfing after two mass shootings in a single day. If only republicans took real outrage-able issues as seriously as they did faux outrage issues
WaPo breaking news - McConnell fell and broke his shoulder. Hopefully they have to amputate and he gets an infection and dies in pain. Yep. Hopefully. https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...bb69e8c4e39_story.html?utm_term=.2994460dba5b
Stuff like that makes you think karma might actually exist. Although if Karma actually existed, he’d suffer much more than a broken arm
People in congress should have to wear body cams at all times. If we have to live in Mitch McConnell’s hellscape we should at least get to enjoy the video and audio of him when he has an old person fall
Poor agility trying to dodge that bipartisan gun reform bill. But it must be exhausting doing it 40-50 times a year.
I'm having a hard time coming up with something terrible enough to be an equal karmic exchange for the piece of shit that he has been to date.
There's 270 million guns & 330 million people. Whats the end game? Who are we keeping from having guns at this point? We could stop selling guns tomorrow and there would still be more guns here than anywhere else in the world 20 years later. I think 20% of confiscated guns in Mexico were originally from the US. That should say something.
Wasn't my point. My point was everyone already has guns. Putting much, much stricter rules in place should be a no brainer.
My ideal plan is that we put a 4 year phase out plan for people to turn in anything above a handgun level. Then anyone who is still in possession is confiscated with extreme violence. I think in 4 years we can create a sufficiently autonomous robot army so no police officer lives will be lost. We seriously don't deserve guns, but I will graciously allow them to keep standard handguns so they can protect their families (also bullshit, they like to fire guns to feel powerful).
Her entire existence is built on infamy and notoriety and she’s an assault rifle away from being just like the El Paso shooter.
I would say a complete ban for automatic weapons or accessories to make a gun auto going forward. Have a turn in program for existing automatics & new licenses issued for all other existing guns. Any new licenses period need to include a screening with a mental health professional. All ammo would need a way to be traceable going forward. Finally there would be no gun show exclusions or bullshit loopholes. States that decide to not follow it would lose federal funding.
Yup. Going with the mental illness and both sides narrative. Gotta get scalise in there to really shore up the both side-ism.
not like republicans give a shit about facts, but there is zero evidence to suggest mass shooters suffer from “traditional” mental illness.
Islamic Terrorists also are radicalized online. We should provide them with professional mental health solutions. JK WE GO TO WAR WITH THEM YEEEEEEHAWWWWW
Philadelphia Union midfielder Alejandro Bedoya scored a goal and then grabbed an on field mic for the TV broadcast and used it to scold Congress over their inaction on gun violence.
Handguns are by far the #1 gun used to kill people in the US. Mass shootings, while very obviously tragic and awful, account for a tiny percentage of gun deaths. Handguns are also the most common gun used in other crimes, like robbery or sexual assault. I guess we have to ask what we are hoping to accomplish here? Ending gun violence? Ending mass shootings? I know the answer is all of the above, but banning and confiscating all guns except handguns I don't think gets those kind of results. I think it's 34 people that died in these mass shootings. Tomorrow 35 more people will die from guns. And the next day. And the next. Most will be from handguns. I'm not saying you are totally wrong, but I think it's still a good idea to put all of that in perspective. And try to find a way to fix the problem. More lives would be saved if we banned and confiscated handguns
