Sure, for Trump it comes from a place of weakness and he’s too dumb. But Barr is not and that’s what should scare everyone.
A very common occurrence with me. I have several older friends that are liberal, and their intentions are good. But they have no fucking idea how often they do the same thing as old Republicans about ‘knowing best.’ They often want to ‘help’ but they want to help their way without listening to a word those in the situations are saying to help guide them. (Biden could certainly be thrown in this group plenty of times).
I keep saying this. I believe Russians or someone else on behalf of Republicans absolutely can and have changed votes. I think this is why Trump is making such a big deal about mail in voting in only some states and specifically calls out the fact that he doesn’t think the election results should go much last Election Day. He always speaks his strategy out loud. He is OK with Florida for example, because Florida counts mail in voting prior to reporting. He is upset about the ones that go after the election because then he doesn’t know how many votes he needs to change.
Because it’s like listening to little children recite their same bullshit about the monster in their closet. At a point there is only so many times you can search the closet and show them that they are not there at 3AM before you get angry and start screaming monsters aren’t real. Enough.
if they had the ability to change votes, why not use it against Obama? Maybe the first time you didn’t think you could but the second time, Romney was within the MOE in a lot of polling. Gallup had Romney +1 in its final poll. Have they gained access to change votes between 2012 and 2016? Possibly. We never had a proper investigation of that. We do know they at least had access and the Russians had malware in at least some Florida machines. Have they improved that access in 2020? Possibly. We don’t know. if biden wins, this all has to be investigated. As awful as the republicans are, I don’t want any votes changed in our elections. Even if it helps the democrats. We also need to look into how we get the amount of people who vote to increase. Far too many people don’t participate in voting. We should review all the ways that republicans have built barriers to vote into the system and pass laws dismantling them. I truly believe that republicans will change their policies or die out if our “democracy” was applied properly. Electoral college or not.
So a fairly decent chance of this and republicans admitting to voter suppression as a key electoral strategy. Oh sure “burn it down” is sooo controversial. Flip the parties and you know exactly what chuds would do.

I know a few weeks back seems like ancient history now, but I think back to the interview Barr did with a news outlet (60 Minutes, maybe?) where he was asked some question about how he views his legacy and he made a very smug comment to the effect of, “I don’t worry about it because history is written by the winners.” I can’t help but dwell on how ominous that seems now given his level of self-assurance in saying it.
It’s only moderately Q to say republicans have been complicit in hacking elections for 2 decades and that’s why many are bootlicking Putin, including going to going to Moscow for the 4th of July.
