Wife and I were just talking about this over dinner. We have a 5 year old starting school later this year so it's concerning. She'll still be exposed to the things they are taking out of school at home through us but so many kids won't. So many kids will grow up in a complete bubble just oblivious to anything outside of their bubble. Proximity breeds empathy and they won't have it. And that's by design. It's absolutely insane that kids can't learn about Hank Aaron. Why? Bc it says he couldn't play with white kids while growing up in Mobile, AL? That's a fucking fact. It's not up to debate or interpretation. Some really shitty things have happened in history. Acting like they didn't bc someone may feel guilty about it is such an absurd excuse.
