Sorry, it's not common that I'm asked that. I'm not ok with being asked that. If you are, I find it weird. And it was such a weird spot for it. I wasn't saying anything in bad faith. He was disregarding her words. He was saying she was wrong. She said Fuller never touched her. I believe her. Neither testified so idk where the NYT even got "The two men had acknowledged in the trial that they had oral sex with the woman but insisted it was consensual."
Acknowledging that Mr. Fuller had no criminal record, Justice Fitzgerald gave him four months in jail and five years' probation. Mr. Fuller, Mr. Shakur's road manager, had set up the date between the woman and Mr. Shakur and then had stood aside during the sexual assault, the judge said, thereby playing a "substantial role." But back to the original point, the other two men had sex with her and neither were charged. Haitian Jack paid a $1000 fine and was let go.
I expected 4 pages of civil discourse and the occasional Tupac lyric thrown into the mix. I leave having learned nothing except Bear Bryant was from Arkansas.
I really thought the tattoo was going to be All Eyes on Me. There was a Big Brother contestant many moons ago who had it and ironically had a wonky eye.
being a MOC trying to fight stereotypes being a good involved father was always important to me. I was also extremely young when my first kid was born. The whole song and especially that line resonated with me at that time in my life. My kids all know I have it and all loved it because it really perfectly describes my love for them.
Iirc Stern was being a fucking asshole as usual in that interview and Rome just clocked him over that one, knowing some (most?) people don't know that reference And then Rick in Buffalo made fun of Brad in Corona's banana hammock for the 20th time
It's absolutely hilarious that you still don't get why you're being dumb. This is like the epitome of being dumb and its amazing
DBL: Tupac was the only one charged No another guy was charged too DBL: She testified she never had sex with him That's the argument. DBL no one is questioning your fandom/Tupac knowledge. You were corrected, it's okay. Move along.
People ask that question when they’re pointing out the other person’s use of a loaded question or fallacy of many questions. They don’t ever ask it literally lol
Immediately becoming angry about “crossing a line” posting one of the more common phrases only does one thing - shows dbl has some trauma he needs sorted out in therapy. I hope he gets the help he needs.
Was wondering why this was 4 pages and guessed there were developments in the case. I should have known
But I wasn't wrong. Fuller wasn't one of the ones that had sex with her. So 2-3 guys had sex with her and only 1 was charged.
Asking someone if they beat their wife is one of the more common phrases in your world? Says a lot about you. I feel bad for your wife.
When you were a kid, how often did people say “when did you know you were gay?” It’s a rhetorical device that has no actual meaning. Well, until today when it gets to be used to add another 4 pages to a topic so you can refuse to say “I was wrong about details of a sexual assault case from the 1990s”.
I don’t blame anyone for not immediately picking up on what was happening with that question. It’s a famous question but if you’re moving fast it can come out if nowhere and you could have an immediate emotional reaction. However, not being about to take a step back, understand what is going on and learn from what others are trying to share with you is what makes that (and so many other “arguments” on this board) so mind numbingly frustrating.
I've never been asked "when did you know you were gay?" Is that something you are asked a lot too? I'll chalk it up to lawyers thinking people in the real world use courtroom phrases regularly in random discussions.
The more we talk about Lyrtch's post, that's the less we talk about the sexual assault in question. Which at this point I have to assume is dbl's goal.
Feel free to disagree, but randomly asking someone that question in the real world (not courtroom) is out of line imo. Rhetorical or not, it's offensive to even ask. If you're cool with someone checking you with that, cool. I'm not. Don't put that and me in the same sentence. Ask today and you'll get the same response. I do not want my name associated with that action at all. Someone walks by while someone asks you "Hey when did you stop beating your wife?" and now they have the wrong idea. No fuck that, find a better way to make your point that doesn't associate me with that at all.
Nobody was associating you with beating your wife but now we're all associating you with being soft as baby shit
Cool. You'll get the same response from me every time you use the phrase. I do not want my name associated with that bc you can't make your point in another way.
That's a metaphor dbl I don't mean to say that you are literally soft as the feces of a baby. Hope you aren't upset
But he isn't. I want you to be intelligent and understand this basic phrase and the meaning so badly so you'll shut the fuck up. But you will not. So I look forward to laughing at you
