I think they are both shitty. We've won 24 games in a row. You picking us to lose is illogical and lazy.
I didn't pick us to lose to Florida. I said we could lose to Florida if we played like we did 16 days ago. Florida beat Tennessee (the team most folks think is our toughest regular season challenge).
I don't think it's controversial to say this team COULD lose in Jax. This is the same team that took 4 quarters to put away shitty South Carolina, Auburn, and Vandy teams. Every game left on the schedule could be an adventure.
I thought Kentucky was the perfect storm for us. We'd been thoroughly unimpressive against everybody and Kentucky had just run for approximately a billion yards against Florida. Even for that I said:
Unfortunately y’all won’t lose to us. We can’t stop the run or pass and do not force turnovers or sacks. Our offense is East-West which plays into your hands.
Yes, I said the thing you quoted that is entirely consistent with everything else I said. I also admitted it in my response to you. This is bizarre.
Going by S&P the Tennessee game will be us ~-3. Missouri, UF, and Ole Miss will be 13-15 point spreads.
It took him a bit to get over that knee injury, but he's been good for us this season after being a step or two slow last year.
Tykee medicals might be suspect he also wont test well, he is good bc of experience and instincts. And playing with the most talented roster.
He’s fine. Not a difference maker, but doesn’t usually make mistakes. Most of his bad plays are due to his physical limitations.
It wasn’t hard for me to say that at all! But seriously, he’s at best the 4th most important player in our secondary alone (Starks, Lassiter, and Bullard ahead).
I know this has been discussed elsewhere, but the number 1 seed should be able to pick opponent and location for the playoffs. Would make the 1 v. 4 game lead up hilarious with all the disrespect talk.
Ehh. The Rose Bowl is unquestionably a more beautiful and hallowed venue, but getting in and out sucks, the stadium itself is in disrepair, and you aren’t close to anything in LA. It’s just a total pain in the ass. Glad I went out there in 2009, but once that was checked off the bucket list there was no going back. NOLA has it all from convenience of getting to/from the stadium, ease of travel, food/drink, other fun shit to do outside of the game. Legal weed in Cali is a huge bonus for them, though.
I had no issues getting in and out of the Rose Bowl/Pasadena. Sure it’s a little drive from LA, but it’s not bad and I enjoyed the scenery.
We just got too many holes. D hasn't been what it needs to be all season. We lack elite skill players as well
This is probably the least upset I've been after a loss like this. I don't really know why either. Probably has to do with there is nothing we should complain about given last 3 years. Sucks playing a shit game yesterday - the fumble and Bama having 3rd and 21 at the end of 1H and getting a TD will haunt us for a while Hoping the rising soph class and portal can improve front seven. Should go after an elite RB if there is one and more receivers. Rara, Lovett, and Bell (assuming they stay) will be a nice WR core but need a lot more and better players there too.
I thought we'd drop a couple games this year. As the season went on and a super power never rearlly emerged, I started thinking we had a chance. Oh well.
There were warning signs all year about the defense and a big one for me was last week when we were getting gashed on QB reads by Haynes King. The loss yesterday isn't necessarily on the defense but we needed some stops that this year's defense just isn't good enough to get. The bad exchange where we gave away points and doinking the 50 yarder aren't things this year's team could overcome against a top 5 team.
I never really buy when supposedly great teams consistently play down to competition. I think that’s a big warning flag that there may be a day when the switch doesn’t flip.
