one guy drafted and it was a skill player whose talent and work ethic were so undeniable that not even Mack could screw him up, can't think of a more appropriate final class for old boy
probably wouldnt have made a difference but the pivot to him seemed super late and reactionary to what should have been assumed news with drake so i dont have high hopes on them pivoting to a new target. this roster isnt good enough.
giving this a watch and god theo is awesome love this but it still hurts me a little because man i loved him as a kid. him mentioning mj was funny because i think you can make a good case he’s the most gifted 2 we’ve had since mj. over vince and stack and forte and wayne. he’s a total piece of shit but it’s still sad how much talent he wasted.
new update same old same old. VAL presumed gone, drake likely staying and we are pursuing draft guys and international guys. and everyone is yelling at rell i know it wasnt his intent but he’s really messed up the wording of the staff’s opinion on this roster. stupid semantics argument but they said they were done with major additions and now they aren’t with VAL leaving. which is good but jesus how clueless are they to think they could roll into next year with this roster before VAL left
even ic lackeys are starting to get tired of this bill/jordon circus obviously won’t be news at all if we win but what an embarrassment
I honestly don't even care, people are gonna find any reason to clown us over this hire, if it weren't this it'd be something else don't have any social media so it's no issue just ignoring whatever the fuck she might be doing
in some good news though, I'm starting to really like how this roster's shaping up, the portal's been really good to us the last couple of weeks and it doesn't seem to be stopping, supposedly landing some giant of a safety from Gata next
been checking in all day expecting a commitment only to find out he's scheduled a visit for Purdue now, I blew it fellas
the thread on ic on this is a good example on why sexual misconduct/assault isnt taken seriously when it comes to college athletics. good lord can't wait for hubert to hide behind his faith in explaining this one
seems pretty clear we just hoped this wouldn’t go public, the girl and her family weren’t happy about the terms of his punishment being met and they went public with it after it was confirmed he would be back it would be gross and unacceptable if it was our best player. doing this for him of all people is not only gross and pathetic it’s absolutely batshit insane. guessing they cave
how fucking dumb can hubert be to let him get shots up and workout in the dome just yet another piece of evidence to how clueless he is. deliberately antagonizing this girl for no reason other than to keep a 1 ppg scorer in the program. ridiculous
i am an irrationally big fan of his because he was one of the few bright spots last year so really hope this isn’t true
he is severely limited but he busts his ass and gets everything out of his skill set. really wanted him back and not thrilled he’s leaving
some guy on ic compiled a list of the players we actually have returning, thought it was interesting to see the numbers at this point kind of feels like it's a new season of last chance u coming up, the leftovers are the guys who had to stick around for another year Spoiler The team has been completely overhauled with 61 out of 94 (currently) players being newcomers -- either high school recruits or incoming transfers. I thought it would be interesting to look at the 33 returning players by position: QB Max Johnson - One of three returning players that were former transfers. I don't think he's going to be a big factor in the QB competition, but it's nice to have a very veteran presence in the room as he continues to heal RB Davion Gause - Likely starting RB Caleb Hood - Can he finally stay healthy? Charleston French - Unknown commodity in the RB room TE Jake Johnson - One of three returning former transfers. Unsure how he fits, but likely one of our starting TEs Timmy Lawson - Unknown, but he made it through the grinder so we'll see WR Kobe Paysour Paul Billups Chris Culliver Javarius Green Jordan Shipp Alex Taylor The WR group stayed mostly intact from last year, only losing seniors and two guys to the portal (Hamilton and Blackwell). OL Austin Blaske - the third and final returning former transfer. Trevyon Green Jani Norwood Aidan Banfield It's quite telling that only four OL return from a group that used to have 15 guys in the room. The entire room has been completely overhauled, and these four aren't even guaranteed starters next season. DL Jaybron Harvey Peter Pesansky Leroy Jackson Only two returning interior guys, and both are redshirt freshmen going into the season. Harvey and Thompson are the "old guys" here, both entering their 3rd season. This is another room that has been completely overhauled, with only three returning guys from a room that had 11 guys in it last year. OLB/Edge Tyler Thompson Daniel Anderson Thompson and Anderson are listed as Linebackers on the official roster, which leads me to believe they'll be OLB's in a 3-4 look. On last year's roster we had six guys who fit into this mold/category, but we're only returning two, one of which is entering just his second year. ILB Evan Bennett They're all gone but one guy, and he's just a redshirt freshman. Nickel Kaleb Cost Tre Miller Ty White This group remains intact, losing no one from last season. However, we've added some guys that could compete in this room through the transfer portal, so we'll see what happens. Safety Will Hardy Malcolm Ziglar Jaiden Patterson Jalon Thompson One returning vet, and three second year guys. I have heard Jalon Thompson has moved to CB, but couldn't find confirmation anywhere. Corner Marcus Allen Ty Adams Khalil Conley One returning vet, a returning contributor, and a second year player. I'm surprised we have not had more movement here, to be honest, both in or out. Special Teams Tom Maginness ----- The closer you get to the line of scrimmage, the more turnover we see. The OL, DL and LB groups have been completely overhauled while the WR and DB groups remain mostly intact. Evidence that Bill and Lombo are "building from the inside out", but also evidence that our problems began and ended the last few years at the LoS. We've had decent talent elsewhere, in my opinion.
"TE Jake Johnson - One of three returning former transfers. Unsure how he fits, but likely one of our starting TEs Timmy Lawson - Unknown, but he made it through the grinder so we'll see" Take Timmy Lawson Take Jakey Johnson But don't take the girl
Drake's not participating in the combine scrimmages, figured this would be where he'd truly show out and cement his first round status but appears that's not even necessary
Looks like we'll be taking advantage of the reduced conference schedule by trying to game the system with adding weaker ooc opponents, fucking hate it
i remember the days where ic would destroy duke for their non con scheduling. weird that they now support this strategy for us its probably the smart play but if you're having to schedule like this to make the tourney at unc, maybe you should change something a little bigger than how you schedule
Exactly, either we're good enough to compete at the top or we aren't. If we aren't then using smoke and mirrors to get off the bubble or jump a seed line or two is meaningless. ACC play is already watered down so much, now dumping two mid teams from our schedule for two bad ones just makes the regular season that much less intriguing.
