First off, will go into the negatives. This is a very JPRG type animation and story, if you've tried one before and couldn't get over the campiness or art style, I can't imagine you would enjoy this game too much. For me, that's basically where the negatives end, there are some cringey cut scenes and the art style takes a bit. That being said, still one of my favorite games ever and always been in my top 10. Valkyrie Chronicles is a strategy/shooter/vehicle play/capture the flag/RPG with amazing music and story. It's set up with a start point where you select your team and either advance or defend a position. There is no multiplayer but the AI is a bitch most of the time. Very challenging, but rewarding game. Drops Tuesday, will be a preorder for me. It's one of those games that is very unique and hard to find a comparison for. Also, the learning curve is kind of high. As a top down strategy game then a 3rd person shooter, definitely have to run the tutorial once or twice and the first hour of the game is when you will be cursing me out for talking you into buying it. Stick with it, turns into a really memorable amazing one of a kind game. Tip, don't forget to revive anyone who goes down, after 3 turns of them almost dead, they die forever ever. Adds a lot to the strategy though.
Nice, it's a hard game to describe, but I love the 3rd person stuff where you have a limited amount of movement to get in position, then at the mercy of RNG. The singing cut scene with Rosie is gayer than 3 dudes blowing each other, but if you can get past those type of JPRG moments, such an awesome experience.
Came in the mail today, in a nice little steel book case. I think I'll start it this weekend after I beat Uncharted. Now I'm just hoping for a ni no kuni remaster before ni no kuni 2. Got rid of my ps3, but I've been itching to replay that. One of my favorite games of last gen
Finishing up Hearts of Stone in Witcher on NG+ and then diving into this again. I am around 300 hours in Witcher, haven't played since around New Years so getting that ready for Blood and Wine. Such a great game. Knocked out Uncharted last week, the multiplayer didn't grab me so deleted it. Passing on Overwatch and Fallout DLC so should have a solid two weeks with Valkyria.
