Posted about it in the random shows thread and seems like it’s got enough viewers (4) to warrant a thread. Every time Betty appears on screen I yell out “Betty!” She really is a star.
I saw some good reviews last year so started watching it. It's messy for a procedural but I enjoy it a lot. I generally watch it as my wife goes to sleep so has made it a thing to always talk about Will Trent even though she has never seen an episode.
Yeah like I said in the other thread we started watching to spot locations around Atlanta. But it’s good enough to keep our attention even if there are some plot holes and other inaccuracies
My favorite thing about the set design is that a bunch of the artwork in Will’s office and home are pictures of local buildings/maps/some ATL print. That makes perfect sense if you’re shooting your show in LA but it’s set elsewhere but it’s very funny that they do it here for no apparent reason other than to constantly remind the audience that it’s Atlanta.
I watch it on Hulu and it drops the same day as High Potential so I tend to only watch one a night because there is only so much genius quirky detective stuff I can tolerate in a night. The Rookie (which I also watch) also drops the same night so I watch that one on a different night also. My wife loves to remind me of the irony of someone who hates cops as much as I do watching so much procedural cop propaganda.
Man, this is amazing because ever since we had our daughter 3 months ago the wife and I have just been watching these exact procedurals (plus Matlock) bc we don’t really have time for any prestige TV. We also work some SVU in there for good measure. I like High Potential for Dee but the gimmick wears off fast. Same with Rookie and Nathan Fillon but sometimes they veer too far into copaganda when Fillon’s gift is levity. Will Trent and Matlock are easily my favorites. Trent can be trite but I like that they actually shoot on location and Matlock has a fun slant that you wouldn’t expect from the name. Also, Kathy Bates is a legend.
the rookie is my favorite out of the 3 (it is the campiest and has the best eye candy), then Will Trent. High Potential is extremely formulaic but enjoyable. I watch them when I don’t want to watch anything that I have to pay attention to.
Same here. Like I said, started watching High Potential for Dee but I also like the guy from Rescue Me and Carla from Scrubs. Same with Will Trent. Sonja Sohn is great even when she’s playing sort of stereotypical role. I just love a good mystery.
