I moved around a solid amount as a kid but I was born in Wisconsin and went to Madison for undergrad and grad school.I’m a fan of all Wisconsin teams
he was my roommate in college for a few years. Really good dude and turned me onto this site. Even though it appears most people like to shit on him here he’s as genuine as they come. And also he died of the aids in Africa
My question was about the roommate part, which is crazy; and not the dying of AIDS part, which is whatever
I’ve seen him more on the soccer board than the b1g thread. I had no idea. Welcome joey jo-jo jr shabadoo
was a huge nole fan as a kid and never saw a reason to stop even though i didnt end up going there for school plus its not like fsu and wisconsin ever have any major athletic interactions (outside of the 2008 champs sports bowl - in which i rooted for wisconsin)
I'm no Wisconsin fan, but I hate to hear of anyone dying of aids. Condolences to your fanbase and what not.
I'm sure I'm in the minority, but I think this will prove to be a negative for both Fickell and Wisconsin. He proved he can win at Cincinnati, taking them to a CFP game last year. It just seems like an odd fit. Don't know that you can convince his type of player (especially at the skill positions) to go to Whisky. Absolutely no offense meant to Wisconsin, it just seems like a square peg / round hole situation. But, wtf do I know?
obviously no guarantees when it comes to this stuff but its not the kind of seismic style shift like it would be if they hired somebody from the air raid side of life
It’s his chance to prove he can coach anywhere and make a ton of money I don’t know what tf you are talking about his type, Wisconsin is blue collar and nobody is more blue collar than Fickell Ryan Day coaching Wisconsin would be a square peg/round hole example, x a million
Sources close to Cincinnati’s program told The Athletic on Sunday that high-ranking administrators within the athletic department have been aware and prepared for the possibility of Fickell’s departure for a couple of weeks, with Nebraska and Wisconsin showing interest. A source familiar with the negotiations also told The Athletic that Fickell’s wife, Amy, visited Madison, Wis., this month to explore the Badgers’ interest in Fickell for the head coaching position. Sources close to Cincinnati told The Athletic that Bearcats administrators have been in conversation with Fickell in recent weeks about what could be done to keep him at Cincinnati, including a willingness to increase the assistant salary pool, among other things, but that when the Wisconsin offer ultimately came, Fickell felt this was the right time and situation for him to pursue.
Madison is an extremely underrated town/city. One of the few places in the Midwest I would consider living.
I was thinking that Madison could simply be where he wanted to live since his two priorities seem to be staying in the Midwest and waiting for OSU to call someday. Madison is a good spot to wait.
Example 8764 of Bukowski being the fucking worst It's a booster's jet. And even if it wasn't, like it or not Big 10 athletics is a massive enterprise and running it properly is good business for the school. Important people need to be in a lot of places in short periods of time and a pj doesn't need to be viewed necessarily as flaunting excess just for the hell of it. Now, if the have a pj that is just used for trips to Aspen, St Bart's, and Nantucket - that's a different story
