What are the announcers talking about? Rubber match? Sorensen already won the rubber match in the quarters
Do we have like an exact time schedule of the matches tonight? I'm going to be at a wedding and I plan on setting alarms on my phone so I can run away to a corner and watch certain matches. I'll probably end up watching them all in corner actually.
Sorensen is a junior. He and others can choose to get pummeled by Zain or grow some balls and move up to get pummeled by Nolf.
Impossible. You can make an estimate based on knowing the order and start time. I'd estimate 15-20 minutes to next weight and it starts at 197
Pretty great year for OSU all things considered. 2nd place and next year's squad will outscore this year's on paper. 125: Don't know what 133: Another 3rd place for Nate, going 1st, 3rd, 3rd. He will be #1 or #2 behind Gross next year. Will be a debate. 141: Solid year for Pletcher considering he's a 133 and a true freshman. Hayes will be back next year and probably starts the season ranked in the 8-12 range. 149: 4th place for Micah. With Zain/Sorensen returning, he's a clear #3 at the weight unless he moves up to 157, in which case he's probably #2 or #3. 157: Nada from Jake Ryan, didn't qualify after missing most the year with injury. Maybe Micah mans this spot in '18 165: Burcher qualifies and goes 0-2. OSU will try to address the weight in the offseason with a transfer. Campbell from Pitt is a rumor and didn't place, Isaiah White was only FR or SO to win a D2 title as a true FR. 174: Bo is back off finalist season, will be #1, #2, or #3 in '18 depending on result of match tonight. Clear #1 if he wins, probably #2 if he loses. Zahid may move up. 184: Myles finishes 5th. Dean, Brooks, Dudley, Jackson all graduate. Myles probably starts the season #2, #3 if Zahid is at the weight. 197: Kollin Moore finishes 3rd, will be a unanimous #1 at 197 in 2018. 285: Kyle Snyder. So predictions for next year if there are limited lineup changes: 125: ??? 133: NaTo #1/#2 141: Hayes #10 149: Micah #3 157: JR ??? 165: ???? 174: Bo #1/#2/#3 184: Myles #2 197: Moore #1 285: Snyder #1 Two clear #1's in Moore and Snyder, then it's possible that we return three other national champions on top of that in NaTo, Myles Martin, and Bo Jordan. 5 title contenders, a possible finalist in Micah, an AA threat in Hayes....That's an amazing squad, maybe close to PSU good.
Great squad. No doubt. Great won't beat epic though. 125: Suriano 1-2 133: Cortez 5-8 141: Nick Lee 6-12 149: Zain 1 157: Nolf 1 165: cenzo 1-3 174: hall 1-3 184: nickel 1-2 197: Mouse/Cassar 5-10 Hvwt: 2-5 PSU could have 7 potential finalists and/or 10 all Americans. One thing is for sure. It's PSU and tOSU and possibly OSU and no one else. My prediction for next bonus machine for PSU is Suriano. He's going to bring pain next year. Nick Lee will also AA. Early reports are of a young Nolf. Endless gas tank that just attacks. Already beat some NCAA qualifiers and has been with NLWC since the summer. You can out muscle him now though. But that will come.
Really interested to see what Nick Lee looks like next season since he's been up there for a while. What's the deal with Manville? Is he still in Colorado Springs? Matt Brown route? Okie state/Iowa should be decent? We get osu, Iowa, and Michigan at home? Lehigh on the road?
125 Lehigh Valley too tough to pick 133 Clark 141 Heil even though I'd love to see him lose 149 ZR 157 Nolf 165 team Mexico 174 Hall 184 Dean 197 Cox 285 Snyder
Pretty excited for tonight. Not a huge fan but have been watching for the past 5-10 years. Every year I'm a little more tuned in. GGCD and myself will be wearing matching singlets and watching at RAM off of halstead if anyone wants to meet up.
Really struggling with that last one though. Just have this gut feeling Nickal pulls it off Also no confidence at all about Jordan/Hall
I just want to see Cenzo, Hall, and Bo Bo stay in it until the end. I'll take the drama if it's negative but I don't want any blow outs.
A) I'm not in town B) I'm not sure if you knew this, but there is no RAM in Chicago, but there is an adult bookstore called RAM on Halsted, although the full name is "RAM: A Gay Treasure"
Insane. Here's my 6-months too early prediction at PSU's lineup and preseason ranks: 125: Suriano i'd start #2 but realize that he will likely be the best guy in the nation) 133: Cortez UR (will work his way into rankings, possible low AA) 141: Nick Lee UR (will also work way into rankings, but can't start him there. I don't know if he's an AA at that weight if Heil, Ashnault, Kolodzik, McKenna, Jack, Meredith, and Eierman are all at that weight class still. Hayes will be back and pushing AA, and I could see Chad Red kicking ass if McCrystal moves, and if not, McCrystal is really good too. Super deep weight) 149: Zain #1 157: Nolf #1 165: Cenzo #1-3 is pretty funny, I'd put him at 2/3 even if he beats IMar, which he won't. I'd start him at #3 despite yesterday's big win. Clear top 3 at this weight. 174: Hall #1 if he wins, #2 if he loses. Could also make an argument for #3 behind Zahid with loss but I give Hall the nod. 184: Nickal #1 pretty clearly regardless of what happens tonight 197: McCutcheon #4--seems ridiculously high for his skill cap but behind Moore, Haught, and Weigel the class seems rather drab. 285: Nevills is my clear #5 behind Snyder, Coon, Hall, and Kasper, in that order. So realistically PSU is looking at 2 probable champs, 3 possible champs, 1 more possible finalist, 2 likely all americans, and then two possible all americans in Cortez and Lee. Possibly Cael's best team on paper, which is scary. Could potentially up numbers like the Hendricks/Rosholt/Mocco/Esposito/Pendleton OKST team.
Of course I was a frequent customer in the early 2000's. I used to live off of Fremont near Waveland.
