I should have done that last year instead of buying the full game. I'm not sure I played the full game more than the 10 hours I could have had on the trial.
my controller is on its last leg...need a new one...is the elite the way to go or are there other good options?
If you are a casual gamer, don’t waste money on an elite. If you someone who plays COD or BF1 20+ hours a week and has a KD of 4/1, get the elite.
I still don't understand pros of it versus standard. What if you're at 20 hours+ a week with an average KD? Would it not help at all?
Elite controller is really helpful if you play shooters. Allows you to map buttons to the back paddles so if you jump/crouch/reload/whatever, you can do so without moving your thumb off your right stick. Allows you to aim while doing other functions. It's also just more comfortable for me to just squeeze a button where my fingers naturally rest, so you could use it for any game, but it's definitely catered to competitive FPS players. Downside is it's $150, and once you get used to it, a normal controller sucks to use. My elite developed stick drift within 2-3 months of use, but luckily, Microsoft's awesome CS is sending me a new one for free despite it being out of warranty for well over a year.
To add, for you racing fans, the elite controller is great for shifting gears with the paddles Also, in Halo Wars 2, I remapped my squad macro controls to the paddles as well. ukcats8 is accurate. The elite controller has an amazing weight and feel, and now when I grab my reg controller it just feels cheap.
Found myself in this same situation for the most part. Almost pulled the trigger on the Switch when Odyssey came out. Now after a lot of research as a team with my 9 year old, we're down to either an x box one x or PS4 pro. He's leaning x box cuz Halo and just cuz...I like the exclusives on PS4 (mainly Uncharted and MLB The Show), but will p be swayed the x box way.
I like it. Much quieter and loads so fast. Haven’t upgraded my TV yet so the 4K is nothing I can speak on yet. I needed a new controller anyway and will move the old xbone to the bedroom. Unless I’m missing something you are basically just paying 500 for a machine you basically already own though.
yeah. My motivation is my current system freezes every time on initial startup, which i then have to hard reset and it comes up. Same boat as you though, would also need to get a 4K TV or take my 4K monitor from work.
Top post on all of reddit right now explains that it takes 4,528 hours or $2,100 to unlock everything in Battlefront II. That would be 8 hours a day for a year and a half to unlock everything. Or, you know, just pay them the $2,100.
there is also a 3 hour cooldown on earning credits in arcade mode the proper response is to boycott battlefront 2 supposedly it only takes 10% of a game's community using microtransactions for it to be insanely profitable
Did they not lower the amount it takes to unlock shit? I read something yesterday that earning enough to unlock Vader and Luke was lowered like 75% or something.
I know they lowered the amount it takes to unlock certain things but they also lowered the rewards you get for certain things by the same amount...lol.
I'm thinking about just making a custom controller from Microsoft and adding their grips. I want to say a custom controller with the grips from Microsoft is like 80. I have no need for the elite as I'm mostly on 2k and a little Battlefield
this. from the sounds of it, they lowered both by the same %, which would result in the same issues lolololol.
The icing on the cake is that if you preordered the deluxe edition you got 8 loot boxes with some epic cards in them which now in the game you can't even unlock epic cards through loot boxes only upgrading them through crafting materials. In summary you get deluxe edition for 20 bucks extra you get a 3 day pass to play before retail release, and all of this Elite Officer Upgrade Pack: Blurrg-1120 + enhanced grip modification Battle Command epic ability Heavy Metal Upgrade Pack: FWMB-10 "Megablaster" + barrel vent modification Personal Shield epic ability Armored Assault Upgrade Pack: CR-2 + trigger modification Grenade epic ability Master Specialist Upgrade Pack: A280-CFE + scope modification Laser Trip Mine epic ability Up to 3 days early-access to Star Wars Battlefront II Star Wars Battlefront II: The Last Jedi Heroes, including: Exclusive** Star Wars: The Last Jedi themed looks for two hero characters: Kylo Ren Rey 1 epic ability modifier that upgrades Millennium Falcon to the Star Wars: The Last Jedi Millennium Falcon with updated sounds and look 2 epic ability modifiers for Rey that allow you to control the minds of your enemies and create confusion on the battleground 2 epic ability modifiers for Kylo Ren that allow you to freeze and pull opponents as you use the Force 1 epic ability modifier for a new First Order hero ship
Here is the AMA They basically doubled down and/or said "we are monitoring the results and plan to give you the best possible experience." Almost every single one of their responses was down voted massively. There were a couple that got to the -3000 range....which, if you remember from above, would be 1/8th the down votes of the previous "worse rated comment ever." My point is if there were a list of the 50 worse rated comments in reddit history, SWBF2 is going to be accounting for a very significant portion of them. Fuck EA.
The reddit backlash is extreme and they can really brigade in a terrible way, but yeah, EA isn't doing themselves any favors. The devs who they sent into the fire might not even be the ones to make these decisions or even have the info the players want.
And EA sadly doesn’t give two shits because people will always buy FIFA/Madden and Battlefield and then 5% of those people will throw 1,000s more into them.
With all of this micro transaction bullshit, it's gotta be only a matter of time before some type of college football game is brought back. Go out and try to sign that top croot...but you better be able to pay up!
It takes 4528 hours of gameplay to unlock everything in SWBF2....or $2100. If you play 2 hours a day, every single day, for 6 years, you will NOT have unlocked everything in the game. You can certainly pay a bunch of money for loot crates though. Link
Pay to win is gross. On top of that, it's a $60 game? Publicly traded gaming companies Sounds like the finance department of EA does not understand its clientele for these types of games.
Yes, but even marginally positive answers in this AMA are being downvoted into the top 50 "worst" posts ever. One, it's making the AMA unfollowable, and two, there is just a bunch of redditors teaming up to bring down the man for fucking up the game they feel they are owed. By all means, I would be okay with BF2 if lootboxes were strictly cosmetic, that no benefit would be gained from paying more money. If the game took 2 years to unlock everything, then it's a game with long lasting challenge. There are games like that that I like. The shortcut is clearly the problem. All the same, I doubt they do away with lootboxes with competitive upgrades/hero unlocks.
On front page of r/gaming there is a thread that’s already been cut from the AMA that’s actually super helpful to navigate.
