I guess the Pitchfork pieces inspired this new twitter account and I’m extremely here for it
Nothing but blues and Elvis and somebody else’s favorite song
Amazing account Clown Baby
Also, I feel like Thanksgiving is a good holiday to play a shitload of Dan
Steely Dan (aka Donald Fagen) is going on tour with Steve Winwood this summer. And I won’t miss it for the world.
Clown Babies can have a little Aja, as a treat
TrustyPatches whats your favorite steely dan song

Are you and Leonard brothers?

Led me to this video:
I can't c+p the description, but 50th anniversary of the fm antenna on the Empire state building in 2015 they synced with the song.
Missed this post but it’s great. FM is a great song
Somewhat of a rehash of a prior post, but my now 6 1/2 year old daughter and I went to go pick up Thai food for dinner. She’s super into Beyoncé’s “deeper,” deep in her feels catalogue, so we were blasting a song called “if I were a boy” with the windows down on the way home.
The music is paused in the middle of the song and I hear “daddy-we haven’t listened to the jam in a while, maybe you could play black cow after this.” We were about 2 minutes from our house at this point. After I stopped crying tears of joy, we drove around the neighborhood listening to Steely Dan at inappropriately high levels, singing black cow together.
We live in a fucked up world on a fucked up timeline. But my girl will be ok.
I don’t think providing updates on a burgeoning Steely Dan fan is a rehash. In fact, I welcome it.
Don’t you live in Charlotte? What neighborhood? Sorry if this is too personal, just wondering how much Dan time you had.
It's your favorite foreign movie.
Nothing too personal amongst Dan brethren, friend.
I live in in a nebulous region; can’t claim foxcroft and can’t claim cotswold. We drove past our house and were driving around the monstrosities on Sharon. Charlotte is good for that type of thing.
My regret is not extending the drive to include home at last. She respects the Purdie shuffle.
I know the exact monstrosities on Sharon to which you refer. I grew up behind St Gabe’s on providence and my dad now lives off Randolph near Sardis.
So good. Horns at 3:00
For the visitors to the thread, watch this 3 minute video
YouTube has had a "Steely Dan - My Old School" playlist/shuffle on my front page for months now.
"You done it .... You done hired the Hitmaker"
Bernard 'Pretty' Purdie (2:50)
I could listen to Fagen/Becker all day talking about how they made the songs
I'm not saying it's a sign, but my tinder date brought blow to the bar and after I came out of the bathroom Reeling in the Years came on.
Guessing someone did the Purdie shuffle last night.
No, we can't dance together
No, we can't talk at all
