Bernard is also looking at a picture of his kid very briefly before a scene with a malfunctioning host in ep 1 just little things I didn't catch the first time
published synopsis/preview for tonight's episode Spoiler Synopsis: Dolores joins William and Logan on a bounty hunt in the badlands. The Man in Black, with Lawrence in tow, finds a critical clue in his search to unlock the maze. Dr. Ford and Theresa discuss the future of the park. Maeve is troubled by a recurring vision.
Good to see the park is involved with quick clean ups and mindful of other guests... i.e. someone blasts up a bar and its basically shut down for a day while they clean up the androids etc Interesting that wyatt is the key to the maze but hes a NEW story Is the new narrative coming online gradually or what? Made it seem like it was with "the board will stop you" etc to wyatt being in the story since last wk Unless wyatt has always existed just far off in the park. That has to be right re teddys backstory prior to the new narrative. Right? Thoughts?
"Your organization saved my sister." Could be so many things. Edit: I agree. Just so many angles, especially with theories of saving peoples memories or maybe creating life with the same/similar technology the park uses.
I think Wyatt has been there for a while. I'd say Ford always intended that to connect to Teddy's backstory, but just had never done it because it was a much smaller piece to a longer story or something like that. Teddy didn't have a true backstory until episode 3 when Ford gave it to him. He just had some "things he had to make right" or something like that. So it was an obvious entry point to expand, and I guess Ford is trying to expand the "Maze" to be part of his new storyline. Which if the Maze is the "meaning behind all this" like the MiB has said, it could be something he wants to expose so that corporate doesn't seize control? Idk, just spitballing.
Definitely an episode that created more questions than answered any (I mean this is an Abrams show lol). But I agree that there's something between MIB and Ford going on re: the maze and control of the "world"
I'm now even more intrigued by where the park is. They were performing heavy construction, but in the 'world,' and there was a conversation about the 'neighbors' and rocks flying through the air, but that could be talking about other hosts. Was Ford controlling the scene at lunch with his mind? That scene was badass, but left me with so many questions--he was quasi-threatening that girl, can he cause guests harm in the 'world?' The narrative has already been implemented, right? Teddy crucified had to be part of it, and MIB stumbled upon that. And last week they encountered it. What did he mean when he said take it easy on Barnard? The easter egg that William and his friend found is going to be very interesting. Guess my MIB = Host theory is pretty debunked. From the preview: Spoiler Looks like Ford and MIB have a sit-down next week. That should be very interesting.
Right, I think the clear upshot of that scene was that, by virtue of him being the sole remaining member of the original park creation team, Ford has more control over the hosts than had been previously let on. Has used this to his advantage over the years to consolidate control.
I also noticed that, just like with the snake in episode 2, he used waived his finger to get the waiter to kick back into reality. So while everyone else seems to use the audial queues, he has a much deeper level of control than even the programmers.
Also, Barnard's voice sounds like a video game narrative or some other movie voice over---every time he's talking I can't think about how unnatural it sounds. Maybe that's just me
right and you have to wonder how much of this Bernard knows. They have a fantastic master-apprentice relationship; really well written
I really enjoyed that. I'm assuming it's just a scripted response from Lawrence but I laughed when he took the blindfold off to see his captors being offed one by one by the MIB (just as he did in episode 2) and said that. Logan (William's future brother-in-law) pointed out in episode 2 that the quickest way was just to shoot them. I'd assume asking would work too since the hosts are programmed to ignore that kind of talk and deflect.
was thinking the other day about how a really, really good guest with experience could feign like a host and end up having real sex with other guests
Getting the fullllllll Monty soon Keep in mind that woman has done deplorable things with Marilyn Manson. Will have no qualms with full frontally murdering every Westworld employee in episode 10
Pretty sure he said your foundation saved my sister. Like he is some super rich powerful guy who has a big charitable foundation.
We saw him in a flashback when Teddy was talking about his newly uploaded backstory. Haven't seen him in the new narrative yet though.
When he said "take it easy on Bernard" that was his way of showing her that he knows everything that goes on there and knows she's been fucking him.
