Not entering book 5 thread but don't click if you haven't read the first 110 pages of ADWD Spoiler Jon Snow ordering them to hang Janos Slynt was fucking awesome. Then doing it himself with Longclaw. Awww yeah. I wanted to fist pump. Feel like such a nerd haha. This book is going to be good.
I'm about 200 pages ahead of you and have been kind of dragging my feet because it'll be some time before book 6 comes out... But yeah that part was boss
**Book 5 spoiler** Spoiler Im about halfway through book 5, taking it slow. Dany has turned into such a stupid fucking cunt since Astapor. Shunning her dragons, Daario this, my people that. God damn do something you whore
I'm on the Queenmaker chapter. Could they throw a few more names at me that idont recognize? Not hard to keep up at all.
Is Brienne dead? She's dead. Isn't she? Fuck these books. Fuck Catelyn. Still. She even sucks as a zombie. Dammit.
well when you kill half the main characters in the first three books of a 7 books series, at some point, you got to add new folks to kill
Regarding the question about The Hound and Saltpans in the Book 3 Thread: Spoiler Rorge is the one doing the raping in Saltpans while wearing Sandor's helm
OH MY GOD Spoiler I went back and looked at the prologue, wondering how it was relevant. Last line in the book.
thanks...what with what happened to Arya and Cersei and all, I had kinda forgotten all about Pate in the prologue until that line and was blown away
I just finished book 4 so forgive me if this was already posted but it pissed me off. Also, are we putting book 4 thoughts in spoilers as well, since this is the former "book" thread? Just to be safe: Spoiler scumbag Catelyn
I'm about halfway through and took about a 6 month break in between 3 and 4. Just had a couple questions on plot limes I kind of forgot. Spoilers from 1-4 Spoiler Does Tyrion kill Tywin, or am I not supposed to know yet? Also why did Jaime let Tyrion out of his cell? How did Theon supposedly die again? Also for some of those it may suppose to be a mystery for now, I just wasn't quite sure. I'm halfway through 4 if that helps. TIA
Spoiler Yes he shot him with a crossbow at the end of book 3, He was trying to save him from his death sentence, Ramsay Bolton/Snow killed him
I know... I just couldn't remember if it was actually him, or could possibly be someone else, but they blamed him.
ASOS was pretty straight-forward about Tyrion killing Tywin and Shae after he was freed from his cell by Jaime.
I'm disappointed in the hands lack of a necklace made of hands. The song and him strangling shae were amazing together.
I've really enjoyed 4 so far. I'm about half way through and it was tough for me to get started because everyone kept telling me 4 was bad, but I've enjoyed it as much as any of the others so far. Also gonna be pissed if Euron somehow gets to control dragons.
Also, very rarely do I get moments where I feel satisfied. I just get moment where I'm like welp should have seen that coming fuck you George R Martin
I'm about 650 pages in to Crows and it's started to pick up a little bit. I just finished Victarion or whatever his name is chapter. Can anyone explain the Pate thing to me? I don't really care about spoilers. I like knowing and looking for shit while I'm reading. Such a good series it's not going to take away anything from it for me. Just like with watching Lost makes it fun.
Spoiler You will find out more about "Pate" at the end of the book if you look carefully. Let's just say he makes another appearance, which is a huge clue as to who the alchemist was in the prologue.
Other than Pate in the prologue, wasn't it mentioned somewhere else in the book about death by biting on a poisoned coin?
Finished book 4 last night. -Haha Cersei, fuck you. Jamie is best twin. -The Dorne Prince sucked except for the fact he tried to wed Arianne with Viserys to get back at the Lannisters. -Arya is still awesome, along with Littlefinger. -Sansa isn't bad now, or it could be that the Lord of the Eyrie is such a faggot. -lol at the fat boy king playing with kittens while the others have dragons and direwolves -Catelyn sends Brienne to find the girls; kills her for trying to find the girls. -Victarion is a bad ass. -Congrats to Sam for getting his dick wet. -Don't know what the faceless man is up to, but he's a bad ass and needs to show up more. -team sand snakes -Brienne, Davos, and Loras are alive. -The Hound is the gravedigger, and The Mountain is a zombie? Maybe they end up fighting. On to book 5
In the first book Bran has a dream of some monstrous being that was all black or something, and opposing him were a golden man and a man with a snarling hound's head. I think The Hound is the gravedigger as well, and he and Jaime somehow end up fighting Ser Robert Strong aka The Mountain Zombie.
Found the exact passage: "One shadow was dark as ash, with the terrible face of a hound. Another was armored like the sun, golden and beautiful. Over them both loomed a giant in armor made of stone, but when he opened his visor, there was nothing inside but darkness and thick black blood."
Yeah that's pretty clear. I think just about any vision or prophecy is important in these books. You just have to figure them out.
I just finished my re-read of AFFC and found that I enjoyed Cersei's chapters the most because we finally got to confirm that she was the dumb paranoid cunt we always thought she was, she really was batshit crazy. I found myself wondering how Jamie ever cared about her at all.
