Ya I've seen Clay Walker and it was a fun concert, just wasn't sure how much you would have heard of him haha. It's fun though, have you been to the Coke 600? It's so awesome
Haha fair enough. 95% of this board probably hasn't. No, I haven't. Haven't been to the track. I need to go and see the white trash that NC has to offer.
It sure is fun, get there around 11AM start drinking beer and blasting tunes until 6 then head into the track for the pre race "fight." Literally a battle where military drop in from helicopters and tanks roll in and they fire fake bullets and throw fake grenades at each other to commemorate Memorial Day. I had infield tickets last year and it was crazy
yeahhhhhhhhhh I have no idea where we're sitting, friend of mine bought the seats for the group. Went to the race last year, which was my first race, and had a blast. And I don't even like nascar.
With the Bobcats being slightly better than the Alabama School for the Deaf and Blind, I welcome a baseball team with open arms
I think the plan, if the Knights get the financing, is to have the stadium built within 2 years, so 2014 season i'd guess.
the knights are just awful, although they do play in a solid league, braves AAA team plays them a good amount. Teheran pitched against them last week
I've never been to a game. I need to go. Btw, you post in the Red Dirt thread, right? Robert Earl Keen is coming in 2 weeks
Coyote Joe's is a great place to get shitty once a year. Indie fans may be interested to know of Montreal is playing tonight at neighborhood theatre ...
Crazy as in an insane amount of people in a huge barn looking place. I've only been there once, and it was hot as hell in there, but it was fun. Definitely something to check out once or twice as Joe Louis said
Of Montreal was spectacular ... not that you southern boys give a damn. If there's any Indie fans itt things are looking up I'd say for good shows in Charlotte, neighborhood theatre starting to book legit national tours...
Because they always settle. Lots of talk about the Expos back in the day, nothing happened and now we're left with this garbage.
Problem is, they build this stadium which will never be able to house a pro baseball team. So if they ever tried to get an MLB team they'd have to build another stadium and I don't foresee the taxpayers agreeing to that in the near future after all the bitching they did about the Bobcats arena. So that, in my mind, is them settling on AAA ball for now. But here's a song to cheer everyone up
if the city gets to the point it has a real chance with a MLB team they will blow it up and build another ...
Possibly but I just don't foresee Charlotte ever sustaining a major league team. Same problem Atlanta has with the placement of Turner Field only exaggerated because there aren't any highways in Charlotte. People aren't going to drive home from work at 5 and then file back down Providence an hour later
Braves, Panthers, Bobcats and your choice of college team seem to be the majority of fandom of most Charlotte folk, which is good to me imo
The city is only committing 8 million to the new stadium though. I think if a team like the Rays wanted to relocate to Charlotte, people would be crazy to reject that.
Charlotte was running a distant 3rd to ever get the Expos IF they were even in the mix. Long term they should've made Bank of America a dual purpose ball park and tried to lure a team that way. As it stands, i'm excited to watch the Knights go uptown. That's something they really needed up there for summers.
Bootsy Collins was sweet! I'm having a good month of concert going, Mayer Hawthorne, of Montreal and bootsy all playing a couple blocks from my front door, noda is blowing up these days ... Now can someone tell me who da fuck is Mike Dunlap??
