Trailers show this film deserves its own thread. Again. And the one that should own your manhood... Cannot. Fucking. Wait.
I've been checking RT for about 2 weeks now to see what kind of reviews it will get. It's not just getting positive reviews, everyone is saying it's amazing. I may actually go to the theatre to see a movie
I started to worry a bit when they didn't lift the embargo on reviews last week or the week before. If the studio believes in the critical success of a film, they usually lift the embargo a couple weeks out to build critical acclaim up to the public release. Looks like any concerns I had were completely unfounded. Cannot wait for Thursday.
OH MY GOD it's up to 32 reviews and still at 100%. There will be some contrarian reviews that come out just to be a jackass but i'd be shocked if this ended up less than 95%. Biggest RT ratings boner since Skyfall.
I know :( I've never been a big movie person. But I've heard really good things about the Mad Max stuff. Would you say that I need to watch the others before this? Or would I be able to understand the plot of this one by just watching it?
As long as they've got some action long movies don't really bother me. I'll give them a shot before I watch this one
Was waiting to see who would be the first dickhead, of course it's a Brit from a shit tabloid. Noisy, explosive and visually spectacular but depressingly hollow. Full Review… | May 11, 2015 David Edwards Daily Mirror [UK]
didn't get a lot of box office love, but The Drop was fucking awesome. one of my favorite movies from last year
watch The Road Warrior first imo; you don't need to see all three to get a feel for the series because it doesn't exactly move in chronological order the premise is basically post-nuclear war where everything was destroyed and society has devolved into gangs fighting over resources (gas and food)
Quite possibly the most amazing trailer I've ever seen. Hopefully the actual movie is even half as good as I'm expecting.
I've just read his so-called 'review'. It's about as "noisy and depressingly hollow" as he claims the movie is. Nothing of substance whatsoever - all we get is "wah, where's Max?".
Watched the original again, will do Road Warrior probably tomorrow. Haven't seen the 3rd, do I need to watch it?
i just watched a preview screening of this. go see this film. its the most badass film i've ever watched. just balls to the wall the whole movie. it's great.
Seems like no place in Orlando is showing the IMAX 3D, just the Real3D. Wonder what determines which version gets shown, as these are all IMAX theaters.
It's not showing in IMAX 3D here either. I don't know what determines it. Maybe it's because Avengers 2 is still showing on it.
good call, most places only have one IMAX screen and AoU is still on it everywhere. Makes me wonder, with IMAX becoming so much more prevalent, are these places going to build more IMAX screens, or just have to pick which movie they show in IMAX? I'd hate to miss an IMAX showing because some other movie is playing already
Think I saw a quote from the director that said he cut Gibson out of the film http://nypost.com/2015/05/09/mad-max-creator-on-why-mel-gibson-was-cut-from-fury-road/
It's not really playing in IMAX. I believe only theaters doing that are 1 in LA and 1 in NYC. As far as NYC, I can say that the IMAX it's in is barely a legit IMAX screen-- just slightly larger than a big movie screen.
