We are 1-1. I'll wait until our season is lost before being interested in finding what we have in Manziel.
Josh McCown fucking sucks. We're not going to win the division or go to the playoffs regardless, I'd rather find out what Johnny can do and win six games than watch that old faggot McCown and win 7.
Bahahahahahaha This is quintessential Cleveland behavior. It will be even funnier after he lights it up on Sunday to see your reaction then.
I'll wait until your prophecy comes to fruition before just giving up on the season. McCown gives us a better chance to win consistently than Johnny.
Yes. There is a reason McCown is in his 15 NFL season and Johnny is hanging on for his life after 1 season. Quit being that irrational Browns fan.
Derek Anderson has played for a long time. I bet we could get him back for a late round pick. At least he's had one season where he won 10 games.
Corch gets like this, you'll have to excuse him If McCown plays well a couple games this will all be forgotten
You're right. It's not about supporting Johnny because I think he's awesome. It's wanting him to play so we know what we have and need to do for the future. McCown is probably marginally better at this point but him winning six games here does nothing for our future.
Did the packers know what they had with Aaron Rodgers after 18 games? Was t the plan all along to let him sit behind a veteran and prove all season he knew how to be a pro? Start him next year or when after McCown blows it. Getting mad at not starting Manziel is the total damned if you do damned if you don't attitude towards the team. You want to win - coaches start McCown who they believe helps you win. Fans also want to see what they have with Manziel all while wanting to win. Just an outsider opinion.
you can't just say this as if it is just a difference of opinions. one side is right and you are wrong. DA is probably the best backup in the nfl but you don't want him "bc he's a backup" but then you argue for a guy who is an infinitely worse backup to start there is a reason manziel only threw 15 passes vs the titans. he's mediocre at best. you're arguing to tank the season by starting manziel despite being 1-1. starting manziel is tanking the season.
If DA was the best back up in the NFL, he would have gotten another shot at starting. I don't know that Johnny is infinitely worse. Johnny threw 15 passes because we were up 21 0 at half and our receivers aren't any good.
I was actually defending Browns fans. He made some shitty comment about the fans, and I told him he had sour grapes. I forget what the fans were doing that prompted him to comment.
They cheered when he was laying hurt on the field. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...s-ruthless-browns-fans-dont-deserve-a-winner/
I guess all these years have beaten me down. I don't see any way you're winning more than 7 or 8 games regardless of who starts. I haven't seen anything that would suggest Josh McCown is capable of winning consistently without a great team around him. There's a reason no one else wanted him. Johnny was absolutely terrible last year but has shown steady improvement in the off season and early this season. I doubt he's ever going to be our franchise qb but I want to ride it out so we can move on in 2016, if necessary instead of waiting another year or two to find out he's not our guy.
Also business side says that if they play Johnny and he sucks end of the year will be lean. They can suck with Josh then sell Manziel hope and sell some tickets. I don't think Pettine sucks so I like how he is approaching it.
I like Pettine. I also like Mangini and think if he would have had a decent gm he'd still be our coach
yeah but we have a really good chance to go 6-10 with a journeyman qb. can't just let opportunities like that pass you by
You guys are right, even though Johnny Manziel didn't win the job in preseason and camp and McCown has played 1 quarter so far we should bench him. As far as let's see what we've got, it's week 3. We will probably have plenty of chance the 2nd half of the season
I don't really care one way or another, since Johnny likely can't play. but i figured they'd ride him another week, especially since oakland's coming in. josh mccown is just one massive sigh. no team in the league can win 8+ with him starting a full season. i'd rather see if manziel has anything to offer at this point even if it means going 5-11 instead of 7-9. we have baltimore, denver, SD, and STL on deck, so the season's likely going to be effectively over in a month regardless.
Worst case scenario you're 1-6 after that slate and you've got 9 games for Johnny to show what he's got. Again, McCown earned the job and got hurt in the 1st quarter and Manziel came in and struggled against the Jets then had a good game against Tennessee and even then was only 8/15. I don't think that is justification to bench McCown
Team Jenny Football. Team Pettine Team Farmer Team Haslam. I hope the four of them stay in Cleveland forever.
I won't pretend to know that and either should any of you. It's 2 weeks into the season. Ravens are 0-2 but I wouldn't be surprised if we lost to them no matter who starts. Denver is 2-0 but hasn't looked very good to get there. Rams beat Seattle then lost by 2 TDs to the Redskins.
I think when it boils down to it, I just don't want to be in the same type of a QB situation next year. I'm afraid that McCown will be just good enough to play most of the year and we win 6 or 7 games, end up with a pick around 10-12 and can't get the guy we want. This team has just worn me out.
