Missing an old man, his bitch(who is strangely out of the kitchen) & his pitchfork. amIrite? Of course I am. I cheated.
Very good sir. I heard somewhere only the White House and Buckingham Palace are the only two homes that have been printed more on paper. American Gothic is the second most recognized painting in the world. So many parodies/prints of that painting. Dont take for fact though, could be bs.

I get asked all the time why I like W. That moment is part of a collection of a few things he did when he was president that just made me extremely proud of my country. I can't, and won't, argue that he was a "good" president or that I agree with everything he did. But I have no shame when I tell people I like the guy.

Add Korea Pics, Chosin Reservoir, where the Chinese attacked the mostly American & ROK, Allied Forces. While the battle was a defeat, the valiant fighting by our soldiers kept the battle from a force of 60,000 (some say 150,000) to 30,000, from overrunning and annihilating our troops. Despite being encircled, our troops broke out, and were able to slow the advance of the Chines to the 38th Parallel, those that fought in this battle became known as the Chosin Few. The Reservoir and the terrain they fought in Major General Oliver Smith, Commander of the 1st Marines. Despite horrible errors made by the leadership above him in underestimating the numbers and strength of the Chinese, he was able to prepare to a degree his forces, and then stall the Chinese advance and lead them to the breakout. One of our great unknown heros. Chinese assault against hill held by GI's Taking a break at Chosin Reservoir 7th Division, my father's then, mine later, faced the Chinese, many armed with weapons taken from the defeated Nationalist Army of Chang Kai-shek, one of the problems faced by our troops was trying to differentiate who was coming at them, because the sound of many of their weapons, were sounds of ours. Because of several journalists, much of the credit is given to the Marines, however an understrength concocted group of the 31st Infantry Regiment (RCT), 1st Battalion/32nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Battalion/57th Field Artillery Battalion, and the 1platoon of the 15th AntAircraft-Artillery was as heroic. Some 4,000 men faced a force estimated at over 20,000. Losses of the 31st were 1777, and 875 ROK attached. mostly wounded that froze to death (many of the soldiers were equipped with summer sleeping bags, with arm & leg holes as their cold weather gear), or that had run out of ammunition. 1st Marine Division 1st Marines getting ready to breakout 1st Marines, the temperature was freezing to sub-Zero, many battles were fought in white-out conditions.
Those men get ZERO recognition. It's a true travesty and yet theres little that can be done about it. The Korean War was as horrible as anything an American soldier has experienced and I would choose being in WW1/2 and Vietnam over it based on what I've read.
Yea this is true it is truly the forgotten war when it comes to history books, class, and discussions.
Wars I wouldn't want to be a part of: 1. WW1 2. Civil War 3. Korean War WW2 vets get all the glory for saving the world. Nam vets basically toured brothels & opium dens in SEA.
I'd say that and his speech at Ground Zero are the two greatest moments in his Presidency, and I'd consider them to also be great moments in American history. He had balls to appear in either place under those circumstances, and there were a few months where he was doing his job as well as anyone in history could have. Unfortunately, it took a turn for the worse. Fortunately, I think he did a great job of guiding the country through an unprecedented situation in our history.

Chatch, your knowledge of what happened there is severely lacking. Even the potheads, drugs became a real part of the scene in a large degree in 1969 and after, fought their asses off. Try being part of a military that expends a lot of personnel to take an area, only to walk away from it not long after, and let the NVA & VC re-occupy it without a shot. From 1969 on, it was all about staying alive if you were a grunt, WTF were they fighting for? Research Khe Sanh (1968) & Hamburger Hill (1969), then come back and tell me about our druggies.
while many are, people like you piss me off for the simple fact that they have had as much to do with the fact that you have freedom as almost anybody else. The whole concept of this country is built around freedom of press as anything else.
wasn't "staged" it was just the 2nd one they were putting up. More like "very misleading" because most believe it was the first and was caught in the act and just perfect timing.
LOL Too bad the bull didn't get that fuckers heart. It's ridiculous that they piss the things off, then kill them for no fucking reason. Stupid ass beaners...
