the guys on the II podcast joked about it a few weeks ago...Sampson made a comment "not to yell at him or he might leave" i thought that was pretty funny
II podcast today. They hint heavily at it. Aussie kid is mentally tough, pretty heavy implication that Bryce was not.
yea, reporters are just saying that he didn't like the way he was being coached which is code for he didn't like being yelled at :)
Miles - Hidalgo - Citron - Westbeld - King Bransford - Risch - Karlen - Prosper - Koval Cerugel - Watson That's tough as hell.
I was listening while distracted so I didn't want to put words in his mouth, but, yeah.. I was shocked at how matter of fact it seemed to be.
Not sure if anyone has noticed, but ESPN has football rated #5 in their polls right now. Seems like it’s gone unnoticed but that’s high for them.
Talent wise that is correct, I need to see them not come out sleep walking in some of these games to really believe it, especially on the road. Hopefully Marcus is addressing some of those flat starts and what to do. It happens to all teams but the ones with him seem to be particularly bad or maybe that is just recency bias
Unless we shit the bed I think this may be the year that the national media/fans start to respect ND a bit more. They've been pretty appropriately "ranked" since the Kelly re-brand, it seems this year more people are starting to lump us in with the "elite" than in previous years.
They actually finished ranked higher than preseason more years than not down Kelly's homestretch. ND has been underranked preseason more often than overrated the last decade.
Probably wouldn't have guessed that. Still though, we've been kept out of the "elite" conversation for the most part, if things fall into place I think that starts to change this year.
Transfer portal and NIL has been a huge net win for us Fringe draftable guys like JJB come here to get an ND degree and become solid starters vs. going pro early; while it has taken some of the loaded SEC rosters and dispersed the talent throughout the country Was looking at how many rosters I think are truly in a better position than us to win a title this year and I think like 3 maybe 4 is what I came up with. Just gotta go out and execute
I think that actually helps prove your point. Being underanked most preseasons definitely supports the idea of being kept out of that elite conversation.
this guy generally has good inside info...will be curious to see if this comes true because he would be a great pickup
i'd almost say Jadon Blair is a silent w/ the way D3 and Ryan Roberts talk about him but he's got 7 OVs lined up (including 1 to ND) so that seems a bit odd
That is odd. I haven't seen anything about his timing, but admittedly hadn't paid much attention to him lately. Adding him and Zachary would make for an insane DB class that is already strong without them. Then again, with recent departures, and guys who will either exhaust eligibility or go pro after 24, they need a big and talented class.
I know its not why you posted it, but that's also a really clean depiction on why UCLA, USC, Oregon, and Washington all got massive offers from the B1G, Stanford and Utah were able to scramble to find a home, and Oregon St and WSU weren't
He wasn't the downfield passer needed for a truly dynamic offense, but never let it be said he wasn't ballsy and willing to try to will his teams to victory. It's contradictory to call him ballsy when he had a tendency to give up on the pocket too soon, but even then it was often with the intention to run into the teeth of the defense to get what he could. If anything, he was too impatient and didn't trust his arm as much as he trusted his feet. I'm glad we're past him in lieu of better passers (fingers crossed) but I'll never hate on that guy.
I don't blame either side. ND needs to be competitive with NIL to not loose kids with real interest over that issue. But if that's a kid's primary focus and reason before stepping foot on any campus, they're probably not a long term fit.
The dude clearly rushed through a top 25 by going conference by conference with the new conference alignments pulled up and totally forgot to add ND and is now spinning No real person thinks they shouldn't be top 30 (he listed 5 to watch too)
