I don't know what is worse, the original bad take or realizing every other talking head did not share your view and reversing course.
The hit and hustle guys (so fucking nice not to hear Mike franks voice) basically had it right. So much worse to share terrible/wrong reasons rather than just say whoops I fucked up they should have been x. But to triple down and then finally admit defeat and still try to thread the needle “I had my reasons but now understand they are stupid” is so bad. probably gets a reaction because we all know people who just can’t admit a mistake and they are frustrating.
If you are at the core a Notre Dame hater you see those reasons and use them as fuel to imagine disaster, but if you scrutinized every other team the same was and they had Riley Leonard and an experienced backup at QB and multiple top 100 recruits as options at tackle that is better solutions than all but about 4 teams will have for their roster issues.
nd has been outside of the t30 once in 12 years. It’s just a mistake. He had open the p4 /g5 lists and forgot about nd.
Literally 30 minutes after posting it he could have said "My bad, Notre Dame fell off my list, they're #8" and re-posted the graphic and there would have been literally zero issues / press lol
He also could have just been silent. Or just said he thinks ND is going to lose 5 games. People would have been cranky about it and accused him of trolling for clicks, but it also would have faded away in an hour. He really dug quite the hole for himself. It's been fun to watch.
