Edin Dzeko has revealed his intention to stay at Wolfsburg until the end of the season, ruling out a move in the January transfer window.

Milan, who made Dzeko their No 1 transfer target in the summer, were rumoured to be considering making another bid for him as Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has failed to make an impact at San Siro since joining the club in a £13.5m transfer from Real Madrid.

It was revealed earlier this month that Dzeko had a release clause inserted into his contract during the pre-season, allowing him to join Milan or any other club willing to play £18m at the end of the current campaign.

Speaking to German magazine Sport Bild, Dzeko said: “A transfer in winter is not an issue at all.”

Wolfsburg appear resigned to losing Dzeko with the club's manager Armin Veh admitting that they are on the lookout for a replacement.

“We are scouring the market, but we can only get really serious when Dzeko leaves,” he said.

    :twocents:

I am sad he wont be sold in the January window but I can't wait to see him in a red and black. Him and Pato will be a problem for everyone.

Milan are looking to do more business with Real Madrid, this time for Holland international full-back Royston Drenthe.

The full-back position has long been identified as an area that needs improvement, so Leonardo was frustrated when no one was signed for that role in the summer.

However, it now appears meeting that priority is shaping Milan's transfer strategy for January when the market reopens.

According to Cadena Ser, Milan are preparing a bid of around £6m for the 22-year-old Drenthe who has lost his battle to become a regular for Real with Brazil international Marcelo.

Juventus and Fiorentina are also said to be interested. In fact, the latter apparently came very close to signing Drenthe in the summer, only for Manuel Pellegrini to ask the Real Madrid board not to sell.

    :twocents:
Anything is better then Oddo and Zambrotta at this point.

I dont know much about Drenthe, is he any good? Can we pair him with Abate on the wings?

Lots of articles in the papers about Inters president calling out Mourinho

    also

Javier Zanetti insists his team will walk off the pitch if racist chants are directed towards Mario Balotelli when Inter face Juventus on December 5.

Juventus were fined £18,000 earlier this week after a section of their supporters sang distasteful chants about Balotelli during Sunday's match against Udinese.

The Bianconeri have accepted the punishment even though many pundits do not consider the chant in question to be racist.

Meanwhile Bologna escaped sanction despite the fact monkey chants were heard whenever Balotelli touched the ball on Saturday.

Last April's Derby d'Italia was marred by racist chanting, prompting the Italian FA to recommend Juventus play a match behind closed doors.

Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Zanetti said: “If something happens then I will not hesitate to go to the referee and ask him to stop the game.”

The legendary Argentinian then responded to comments made by Jose Mourinho after Tuesday's 2-0 defeat to Barcelona in the Champions League.

Mourinho said that Barcelona were better than Inter earning him a stiff from reproach from Inter President Massimo Moratti.

“I think Mourinho was only referring to the specific game on Tuesday. I don't think his judgement was a definite one.

“I don't think the fans have given up, neither has the team. I am convinced our fans will help us qualify for the Champions League against Rubin,” Zanetti concluded.

I love Gattuso and always will, but he has acted like a complete douche bag since Ancelotti's resignation/firing last season. He was pissed when it happened, when we hired Leonardo, and was a downright ass hole in the Derby (penalty + red card). Now, he has no place in the starting lineup, because Leonardo is currently employing a system that uses only 1 defensive midfielder. Ambrosini has been great so far this season, so there's no way Gattuso should be starting over him...

Sell him for 5-10 million or whatever Chelsea will offer for him, and buy a younger player like Hernanes in his place next summer.

He is also pissed because they gave the captain band to Ambrosini. He no longer has a role on this team. I am with you sell him for whatever you can get and reinvest in someone younger.

Buy I thought they are asking 15 mil plus for Hernanes. What his game the other day on Gol tv. He looked good.

The way the Milan players are acting with Huntelaar right now is why I love Milan more than any team in any sport.

Thought we had conceded any chance at the Scudetto against bottom dweller Catania, but Huntelaar comes through with two goals in 1 minute at the end of the game. Good Christ.

Have to admit that penalty was bullshit at best, but I think Inter deserved the victory just based on the highlights that I saw. It seemed like you guys had about 3 or 4 golden opportunities to score. Gilardino almost pulled off a ridiculous goal but shot wide like the faggit that he is.

The league will likely be decided before Christmas, IMO. Milan's next 5 games are Samp, Palermo, Fiorentina, Genoa, and Juventus (last two are after Christmas). Aside from next week's game against Juventus, Inter's schedule is considerably easier (teams like Chievo, Atalanta, Siena). Milan basically has to win all five of those games to have any chance, but I can't really see that happening. Best case scenario for Milan is being 4 or 5 points back after next weekend and just continuing to give it our best shot. The good thing is that we have a week off now, and our schedule at least won't be so jam packed after 3 games next week.

Yeah our finishing was horrible today. Don't know if you saw this but eto'o missed a 1 on 1 with the keeper when he was basically the only one on that half of thee field. We have 2 big games against juve and Rubin then it's easy although I could see us having a letdown after that.

Two men are in hospital after an Inter fan fell from the second tier at San Siro and landed on another supporter.

In the final minutes of the 1-0 victory over Fiorentina this afternoon, a 36-year-old fan fell from the second tier, but the reasons behind it are unclear.

One story suggests he was standing over the railing and lost his balance, while another report claims the fan felt unwell as he celebrated Diego Milito's goal and that is why he tumbled over the side.

The supporter fell and landed on a 46-year-old who was at the game with his son in the first tier.

The medical staff of the stadium ran to their aid and considered their condition to be serious, so they were sent to the Humanitas and San Carlo hospitals.

Reports claim the man who fell is in a coma.

I saw Eto'o's chance. The keeper played it pretty well, but he should have done better with all the time he had lol.

The fans at the San Siro (either team) are so stupid with how they stand over the railing, which is about 4 feet tall at the very most. You see people all the time standing in front of the railing, and then people leaning way over the railing all over the stadium. Bunch of crazy Italians.

pretty sure eto'o took like 3 fake shots before actually shooting that that, it was pathetic lol. He could have at least tried to go around him or something.

Yeah I see people on the other side of the railing leading chants and stuff, and I think to myself what if a goal was scored right then. There would be chaos and the dude would probably fall backwards off the ledge.

Hopefully huntelaar's performance inspires Milan to keep him and not go get Dzeko

I have no idea how Leo does this shit. Every move he makes turns into gold.

The last 15 min of this game Catania had ZERO players over the half line. They played for the tie yet somehow we scored two goals.

Also give the old man a shit load of credit with the assist for the first goal. I think this will be the last year for to Milan greats (Gattuso and Pippo) But don't get you hopes up Harris Dzeko is a lock to be playing for Milan.

Also Shocker called it will Antonini playing some LB with Abate playing some RB. Both kids played well. I think its now more about getting true game time at the positions. But I much rather take my lumps with these kids learning the ropes then with the :old: just being shitty

Shocker thoughts on Strasser. He played about 10 min the other game. Did not look comfortable but he is young and didn't have much run.

And what will Milan do when Abbiati returns. Dida has played well. Maybe Milan can sell him in January or maybe in the summer???

    Finally

Inter got a bullshit PK but what's new :smug:

Italy risks losing Mario Balotelli to Ghana as their manager Milovan Rajevac is trying to tempt him into playing for the Black Stars at the World Cup.

Rajevac is desperately looking for a centre-forward to take to South Africa and hopes to exploit the fact Balotelli has never been called up to the full Italy squad.

Balotelli has dual nationality having been born to parents from Ghana before being adopted by an Italian family.

“Tomorrow I leave for South Africa and after the draw I will go directly to Europe. I have a schedule of meetings with my players who are at work in various European Leagues and it's my intention to speak with Balotelli,” Rajevac said.

“I have discussed it with the President and the Vice-President of the Ghanaian FA and they have given me the all clear. The idea is that of going to Bologna to find our captain, Stephen Appiah, and making him accompany me to Milan to meet Mario and Muntari.

“I am happy with the strikers that I have, but Balotelli's qualities are exceptional. He is young. He plays at a big club and he is very very good,” Rajevac concluded.

A world class goal was what it was. I was literally screaming like a school girl when it went in, but it was hard to root for anything other than a terrorist attack during that game...

Don't really even know what to say about Balotelli. Is the kid a major hot head? Obviously. Would anyone really even come close to caring if he was white? Absolutely not. He would be whistled or whatever, but the way he has been treated in Italy over the last two years is disgusting. I'm proud that Milan has refrained from any sor of bull shit, and ashamed of the entire country for failing to treat a kid that is as much of an Italian as anyone else with an ounce of respect. He might be a douche, but he also devoted himself to Italy, but the entire Peninsula seems to be sending the message that they don't want anything to do with him.

Milan has Palermo at home and Fiorentina away before the Christmas break. It only gets harder after that, but I'm really just trying to enjoy what this team is doing on a one game basis. I said Serie A would be decided by January, but I now think it will be decided by the end of January. Milan plays both Juventus and Inter next month... It will be interesting to see what type of impact the African Cup of Nations will have on Inter. The January transfer market will be more than interesting... I'm still praying for a couple more additions but I won't hold my breath.

Inter are apparently negotiating a deal with Atletico Madrid for their Argentinian star Sergio 'Kun' Aguero, according to the Catalan Press.

El Mundo Deportivo understands the Nerazzurri want to bring Aguero to Italy in the summer and Atletico are willing to sell in order to ease their considerable financial problems.

Chelsea have already launched a bid in the region of £40m only to see it turned down, but Inter feel they can do a part-exchange deal, swapping Riccardo Quaresma in the process.

Inter were ready to do a deal for the 21-year-old in January but Aguero, who is also Diego Maradona's son-in-law, announced his intention to stay at the Calderon until the end of the season.

Jose Mourinho has reportedly given the deal the green light as he continues his search for a creative player capable of complementing Wesley Sneijder.

The Dutchman has been inspirational since his transfer from Real Madrid, but injuries have limited his playing time, leaving Inter short of ideas going forward.

Inter have a reputation in Spain for pulling off huge transfer deals, especially after Zlatan Ibrahimovic's move to Barcelona in the summer.

The presence of a number of Argentinian players within the squad is also seen as an advantage in future negotiations with Aguero.

Also Mourinho's reward if he gets through the champions league group is Antonio Candeva in January. If he doesn't get through Candreva comes next summer

Milan won't sell him. I can't remember too many times that Milan sold a promising young player since Berlusconi has been here. The most recent one that stands out was Gourcuff, but he is simply a faggit that didn't like being at Milan, so I don't really count that one. It sucks that we lost a promising young player, but he didn't enjoy his time here and personally turned down Milan when the French faggits gave him the option to return or stay.

Having said that, it's more than evident that we need midfield reinforcements. As a matter of fact, we need attacking, mid, and defensive reinforcements, but our midfield is currently the most glaring problem that we have. Beckham will come in January, but I can't imagine others arriving, which is going to put considerable pressure on the team in the second half of the season.

I'd say there is like a 85% chance that Dzeko arrives next summer and with him I hope several others, but I don't know if the club's profits will be large enough to purchase many other players. I'd still go with Krasic, Dzeko, Cigarini, and two defenders (Criscito and Bocchetti). Unfortunately, that would require about 40-50 million Euros and I can't see us spending that much. Get rid of Roma, Inzaghi, Favalli, Kaladze, and Oddo. Just start replacing our old players one by one.

Inter leads by 4 points, Milan has stormed back into second place with a 10 match unbeaten streak, and Juventus is 5 points back in third place...

Looks like Milos Krasic will not be moving anywhere in January. Good news for Milan, IMO, because I would be absolutely thrilled to see him come to Milan next summer. Krasic+Dzeko would be perfect, but would prove to be costly. I think Dzeko is almost guaranteed to come at this point... Krasic would be ideal to play where Pato has been playing in Leonardo's system, but I think he can also play as more of a #10. Either of those would allow Pato to play on the left in a 4-2-1-3, or up top along with Dzeko in a 4-3-1-2... If we still had Ronaldinho, then we could even play with Ronaldinho-Pato-Krasic, which would put Pato in his ideal position, IMO.

I don't think Dzeko is absolutely necessary, but you can't turn down a potentially world class 23 year old player for 20-25M. Still have a lot of needs namely in midfield and defense, but Krasic and Dzeko both want to play for Milan and are both extremely talented.
