I did one race yesterday. It's a fine diversion/mini-game kind of thing, but should be an add on to more significant content. I understand that they need to devote the majority of their resources to 2, but these kind of additions alone are going to let this thing die on the vine. Plenty of people will come back when 2 comes out, but a significant portion probably won't. despite the previous creative writing, I still need a Vault of Glass for that exotic gun I'll never use. I'm neck deep in Tomb Raider right now, so I'm just leaving my ps4 on in orbit if any potential groups form up. I should get the invite through on my phone and can switch over.
Bungie has now put forth the model that they plan the rest of the Destiny universe to be. And it will be microtransaction funded mini-games and events. It's very short sighted, but probably cost effective. They will be labeling the game that is supposed to come out next year (LOL on that projection) Destiny 2. What's the point? Why not just call it what it will be: Destiny year 3 expansion. It will have the same gameplay with our same characters, with another 10-12 hour story, 3 more strikes and a new raid. Don't get me wrong, I'll buy it and play the shit out of it. But it won't be a new game. And how dare you suggest that my interaction with juggalo4life4204 be creative writing. That was (unfortunately) an actual, real, living (mouth) breathing human being that I had the (dis)pleasure of playing with.
Much as I hate to say it, im done. Ive put more hours in Destiny than I have any other game I've ever played, but leaving the game in limbo for a year (or more if we go by the previous release) is a huge mistake for a guy like me. They should've just kept adding raids imo. All the content they added where it was essentially just the same levels ran backwards was a waste if time. Just scrap that shit, add a couple of strikes here and there and a raid every 3 months. I wish Gearbox would've made Destiny, they are far better at supporting their games than Bungie.
I might not buy "Destiny 2" I don't know what Sparrow racing is, and I don't really care to find out what it is.
I didn't may to besmirch your juggalo interactions. I was talking about Ogre's VoG fantasy short story. I also think 2 is going to be a significantly bigger change then TTK, but it has to come out in September '16 or the whole thing is dead and Bungie and Activision know that.
ttk is too high also there's just no chance i'm stepping away from destiny to play a game that's relatively similar but inferior in every conceivable way
that's also subjective people die too quickly in cod. it becomes a "who has a better connection and reflexes" competition rather than one mostly about skill.
Im just talking about which of the two is more fun. Destiny multiplayer is very meh, and the connection issues were persistent throughout my time with it. But in the end, to each their own
hit 3 yesterday morning but haven't really played more than a few races since. looking forward to getting a couple of helmets and class items to 320. plus it's a much better 3oC farm than fucking scourge of winter.
My best times in SRL are 4:35 on Mars and 4:18 Venus. I can never hardly get 1st place though, second always. Have 119 races and gotten 320 helmets and 316 class iItems. About 70% of the way to lvl4 if I remember. A tip is to go in with new SRL dudes on your fire team. It matches you to their level and not yours. Win I race with some of my friends that haven't done it much I always win by 10+seconds.
4:39 and 4:21 with win percentages of 28 and 20. could be better, could be worse. good thing everyone gets drops. i notice the upgraded sparrows have more boost than the srl ones. are they actually faster?
I think they might be. I forgot to equip my srl sparrow one time and had to use the veteran sparrow. It felt faster but not having tricks really hurt it. I did see a guy get like a 4:10 time on the veteran sparrow once but mostly its the srl sparrows i see with the fast times.
I heard the redbull sparrow is really good but I don't have it so not sure. Ive seen people do way better than me on a tumbler too before.
Also, the helmet and drop rates are pretty high so even the non 320 versions are great for upgrading all your exotics and spare gear you planned on keeping.
they changed 3oC to proc after each crucible match played. SRL is easier because you don't have to shoot anything and you don't really get kicked for inactivity.
Wait. You can get 320 gear from this? As someone who has had to grind for their gear, that seems like a load of bullshit. Compared to the other parts of the game (KF, ToO, IB) that drop 320 gear, it's ridiculous. There is little to no skill involved in SRL. And if there is such good loot available from this, why wasn't there ANY type of reward for grinding all those quests from The Festival of the Lost, for that matter? I mean that shit was a GRIND. I mean, I guess congratulations on everyone being gifted 320 gear. Just know that every time you don it, it is tainted with the stench of failure and mediocrity at not being able to do real end game content /salty rant
i'm pretty sure they included 320 helmets because of the lack of drops in the raid. IB drops up to 320 and requires no skill to get drops. do you have an issue with that?
I have an issue with any drops that aren't directly related to the result of gameplay. They should have capped drops at 310 for both events. I mean what were the items available for purchase? Weren't they 310? What they should do with IB is make a weapon and armor package available at lvl 5 of standing that drops a random IB item at 310 - 320 to keep it more in line with the raid. As far as the 320 helmet goes, I have no problem with its scarcity. There needs to be that one thing that everyone needs that isn't just handed out all willy nilly. I have only gotten 2 harrowed helmets to drop (313, 314) out of what now, 20 clears? Yes, the RNG part of it sucks, but it's why I keep playing it every week. And to that end, I'm pretty sure next week everyone is going to have a decent chance at getting a 320 helmet by completing the HM challenge on Oryx. And that's the way it should be. Do the hardest fucking things in the game and get the highest level loot.
It's an absolute grind to get to rank 3 in srl. It's not like people are getting those and not putting in time. When you get up to a higher level it's pretty damn competitive.
