Olly is a little bitch. Saying he's not is like saying Paris isn't a bitch because Spoiler he kills Achilles
About time a Sand Snake contributed something to the story with those tits, and she saved Bronn. That is one sand snake who isn't completely useless.
the actress that plays Obara not only read all the books before the show began but she got a fucking Oscar nomination when she was 13. how the hell is she so bad? is she maybe too much of a bookfag and trying too hard to do justice to the character or what? also good lord Tyene's actress is 19.
So glad the show is putting Dany and Tyrion together now. It would have been really frustrating to put it off until next season when this whole season was promoted on having different characters and storylines converging.
After I posted about Obara being a shitty Michelle Rodriguez, I looked the actress up and I was amazed about how she was nominated for an Oscar. I guess I will attribute that to the filmmakers.
No one else had an issue about ghost not showing up all season, but he does once Jon is leaves Castle Black for Hardhome?
So, I could see Jon leaving Ghost precisely to protect Sam. But that lends weight to his eyes turning blue instead of red if he dies at Hardhome...
I'm fully convinced now that the Night's King brings Jon back. Unless he goes into Ghost and Mel goes back to Castle Black after being shunned by Stannis I don't see how he is brought back with fire.
The show's just dumb now. Trying to make sense of it will drive you crazy. For instance, in the last episode Sansa trusted and went to Theon for help, when she couldn't even look him in the eye the episode prior.
I don't think that's illogical, since the last episode she's been raped & beaten repeatedly every night; she went to theon for help b/c he's the only other person that she's in every day contact with.
if the aforementioned cast spoiler is true then that absolutely has to do with what will happen to Jon.
Wish we Aemon's full quote before he died about the prophecy, "the dragon has three heads," I wish I could help her, etc. But I guess I can live with the foreshadowing of Jon walking in when talking about the last Targs a few episodes back.
i'm not getting the 'jon will get revived by the night's king' theory... if he becomes a wight, how the hell does he revert back to himself?
I don't think Jon would be affected the same way by the walkers like other folks, stark blood and such.
I think Melisandre is going to keep pushing for using Shireen as a sacrifice and Stannis going to tell her to get to fuck out and go back to Castle Black.
Didn't the actress who plays Mel say there would be a big scene with her and Jon coming up this season? I seem to remember reading that somewhere.
going down a song of ice and fire wiki rabbit hole and i had no idea daemon sand was in the show apparently he was cast and appears in the 4th season (hes a big part of a winds of winter chapter)
definitely a lot better than last week, Dorne still sucked but the rest was pretty good Diana Rigg is just amazing, I could watch the scenes with her and Howland Reed errr I mean High Septon and Littlefinger on a loop for an hour... of course, here are some gratuitous Diana Rigg from the 60's photos
One more episode to catch up, but as a book fag from the beginning this season has been shit. And that had nothing to do with the differences between the books and the show. It's not walking dead season 2 bad yet but it's pretty fucking bad.
Prone to hyperbole, but her acting performance thus far has been as bad as anything I can remember...
Sorry, but book***s (can't say or type it) are way, way overreacting to the "badness" of this season. This season is still the best drama on TV right now, and I'm not sure it's close. GoT has been lapping the field since season 1.
worst in the show to this point. can't think of anyone more poorly acted off the top of my head although this ham-fisted plotline has Ellaria roaring right behind Obara. "For Oberyn" had me rolling my eyes right out of my head.
It hasn't been talked about enough recently with their shitty choices for casting the sand snakes this year - but they have absolutely nailed some of these characters for me from the vision I made in my head. Sidenote: anyone else have a habit of ignoring some of the author's suggestions for character appearances in books and just giving him/her your own look on a frequent basis? I've done it since middle school assigned reading.
I may be outed as a juvenile nerd here, but fuck it: the casting for the Harry Potter series, by and large, was the most spot-on I can recall, top to bottom. I have no idea if that is relevant to your post or not.
I'm doing a re-read and my imagination is replacing a lot of book characters with show characters. And yea, their casting by and large is ridiculous and it's fairly outstanding because a lot of these people were nobodies before the show. it's arguably the most diverse cast in TV history because there's a billion characters to introduce and make matter and I'd say they've done an awesome job.
I enjoyed the episode, Dorne aside. "Oh hey we poisoned you, here's some gratuitous yet amazing tits. Oh by the way I poisoned you and thankfully by the luck of atrocious writing they put us directly across from you in this huge block of cells otherwise you'd be dead, all praise deus ex machina." Seriously whoever wrote the Dorne scripts needs to be publically shamed and never allowed near the show again. Also, so is Sam just not going to Braavos/OldTown now? Are we just going to skip that? Also, FUCK YOU WRITERS OF THE DORNE PLOT. Doran and Hotah and Arianne are the best fucking parts of Dorne and are either cut or horribly mismanaged! I haven't been pissed about any change the show has made through 5 years, EXCEPT Dorne and only because it's a complete dumpster fire.
I think they foreshadowed that a few episodes back when Sam was talking about the largest library being in old town
I might be remembering wrong, but doesn't the iron bank have a bigger role in the books? I know Cersei sent Mace Tyrell to Braavos a few episodes back so I am looking forward to that coming back in the show
You're entitled to your is opinion but for a lot of people, even ones that have never read the books, this session had been pretty bad. It's still a great show but this season is not.
hard to predict how a redhead will age especially when there is no middle ground with them. They either turn out smoking hot or incredibly meh.
I thought maybe Aemon telling them to get the baby south while they still had a chance could mean they might head that way at the end of this season.
When I read the books, I picture most of the show characters but one off the top of my head that I picture from the book's description is Daario. Would rather picture this clown rather than the show clown Spoiler he's got the smug I would envision him having as well
I agree with all of this. The writing of Dorne all season has relied on way too many coincidences and plotholes. I haven't minded the rest of the season, but Dorne has been AWFUL. Maybe I was just so excited for Dorne, as its one of my favorites in the books, but I had higher hopes. It's pretty clear it was an afterthought in the grand scheme of things. Also, Sam will definitely be going to Old Town. He's a maester to his core. Hopefully they just Littlefinger-Chopper him there rather than give us a full seasons worth of Sam/Gilly boat scenes. Maybe he even says goodbye to her up North and goes by himself since there's no "protect Mance's baby" angle. I can dream, at least.
