I like how my Mexicans are the only team other than the top 3 that have 2 wins.

i will never understand the appeal of the 4321

    isolated striker
    no 10
    no width
    congested centre
'wide' players in the deep rank have no defined role
dependent on fullbacks when there are literally no good fullbacks in the entire world

  15. tne

tne Now tagging people with spaces in their name
    TMB OG

striker isn't isolated, the two behind him have the responsibility to combine, interchange, and push past

the 10 comes from one of the 3 cms, ideally they are all versatile and good enough to push forward in turn

width comes from the fullbacks and 1 of the 2 moving wide

    center is congested though

ah fuck it, DelapThrows, go 4-4-2 for me

    -----------------Benzema------Jovatic

    Reus--------------Ilkay--------Modric-----------------De Jong (make him captain)

    N'Koulou-------Agger--------Kompany-------------Sagna

    -------------------------keeper

so youre asking the cm to be a cm and cdm and 10
the wide players to be fullbacks, 10s, cms
the 2 behind the striker to be forwards, 10s, second strikers

all the while depending on fullbacks to provide any semblance of width

    impossible

I'm relying on my goalscorers not to give a fuck and my back heavy formation to stop leaking goals.

so it works when you have a 30 goal striker, kaka at the height of his powers and stamina, one of the best 10s ever, two of the best fullbacks ever, pirlo and seedorf both young enough to run and old enough to man 3 positions

kaka / reus is a perfect comparison but after that i dont see it, every player on that milan squad was optimized for that formation

modric cant touch seedorf defensively. id rather put him at pirlo's spot but ilkay cant do seedorf either. seedorf was unique there.

cafu is p much known as the GOAT overlapping fullback and he and maldini make the whole thing tick
