It wasn't just staples like eggs, meat, and milk, damn near everything double if not tripled in price over the last couple of years. Last I checked the inflation rate wasn't 100% so it was so fucking obvious big grocery store chains were primarily fucking the consumer. I'll also admit that this equation is more complicated than just raising a price to offset inflation costs, there's a shitton of stuff in the middle that likely doesn't scale neatly, but it's loooooong past time to stop giving gigantic companies (who regularly and publicly publish record profit earnings) the benefit of the doubt. I'm ready for some CaneKnight levels of retribution for these CEOs.
