I had a variable rate and I looked about a year or two ago and it was in the 7-9%. I cried. I locked it into 4 year fixed.
Variable rate locked in initially at 3% in 2019 made me look like a genius when it was at 0% for about 3 years thanks to Covid. Would have been pissed if I had gone fixed
